Damn people with their various budgets.Regardless of the price, there is always somebody that says "if it was £50 cheaper I would have bought one" it happens every time!
And yet, even for free they would've complained about something.Regardless of the price, there is always somebody that says "if it was £50 cheaper I would have bought one" it happens every time!

I suspect even then we would see plenty of people complaining about it, including arguments like it's cheap so it must be bad, lacking features, brand for poor people etc.I ignore the nominal value, 50 by itself is meaningless. If AMD wants market share, it needs to either be 30% faster than the equivalent tier Nvidia GPU or 30% cheaper or a combination of the two that adds up to 30%

Someone with a $600 budget would probably think if it was $50 cheaper they'd find the extra $50 to buy it though.Thing is no one who buys a $700 GPU is thinking; if only it was $50 cheaper. What's $50 anyway, like one hour salary from working
i'm poor. well in so far as spending 2k on a thing that makes coloured 'dots' appear on a screen is not an option. 400 (maybe 450 max if there's game codes) is my hard limit on a gpu. i can honestly say, hand on heart, if i won the lottery that would not change.brand for poor people
That's not how business work - your start low, you get at least a bit of the market, then you build up. Starting with just premium isn't easy and AMD just can't do it currently. Nvidia won't drop prices as they push for the premium (it won't last forever though) but AMD can't do the currently. They could get short term sales for high prices just being available but that won't help them long term. Still, it won't stop people complaining either way - they just will have to outlast that and ignore it and not just drop business.I don't agree, but if it was true then amd should just shut its doors, because if it can't get sales as a premium brand and can't get sales as a value or budget based brand then its basically screwed and they're just wasting investors money
30% is a very arbitrary number, as if that's based on some very detailed market studies etc. But that's not how reality works at all - it's much deeper than that, including what competition is doing when one is to buy new graphics card, what's available, what games are worth playing at a given time and what they require, budget available, what friends own and talk about, what the seller is pushing, etc.I ignore the nominal value, 50 by itself is meaningless. If AMD wants market share, it needs to either be 30% faster than the equivalent tier Nvidia GPU or 30% cheaper or a combination of the two that adds up to 30%
And that's a very valid approach. As long as there's something good in each price range, all good. If it was just for Nvidia, you wouldn't get anything good in the price range, though. :/ Competition very needed here.i'm poor. well in so far as spending 2k on a thing that makes coloured 'dots' appear on a screen is not an option. 400 (maybe 450 max if there's game codes) is my hard limit on a gpu. i can honestly say, hand on heart, if i won the lottery that would not change.
Not everyone is working. I know a few people in UK that are on benefits and really can't add even just 50 to the price, unless they skip food or rent.Thing is no one who buys a $700 GPU is thinking; if only it was $50 cheaper. What's $50 anyway, like one hour salary from working
