Exactly, they will be complaint even if they release them relatively cheap this time but they simply need to endure, do their thing, improve gen on gen and be relatively cheap. That doesn't mean exactly 30% or some other silly arbitrary number. But most of all, they have to be in stock! :) that's the biggest Nvidia problem - not pricing as such (as that's just the outcome) but no availability, which drives prices up. And seems to be done artificially by NVIDIA.

It is what always puzzles me - how can people and media confuse it, as this is clearly not a MSRP at all. Looking closely, Nvidia didn't show MSRP for any card for years now, if it's not their own FE model. There's no MSRP for 5070Ti and the FE models aren't MSRP either, as they are just Nvidia pricing for specific FE cards (that aren't in general retail stores anyway, Nvidia sells them directly). None of that fits MSRP definition.

Yes, we should complain about cards being too expensive but bringing up arbitrary pricing that never was actually a thing set in stone is bit silly IMHO - these prices are fluctuating and changing depending on the market at a given time (supply and demand). And what really matter is that it actually cost in stores at any given time.

I think you are confusing release price gouging and actual prices.

The 4xxx series has a silly opening few months too, but eventually cards were readily available for Nvidias stated MSRP.

There is no point paying attention to current prices unless you have severe FOMO and can't stand to wait a few months.

PATH TRACING in 4K the 9070XT got 10FPS and the 9070 got 8 FPS (5080 scored 15FPS and 5070Ti got 12FPS)

Here you go, some numbers from a review sample ;) OCing takes it to 5080 levels, but you can also overclock the 5080, that's true :)

Overall, with final data I gathered... 9070XT is a replacement to the XTX in raster, much better RT, losing some VRAM, but it didn't matter in testing for now... You get FSR4 and RT is just leagues ahead, it's a tier ahead of the XTX.

Edit, They have also stated prices have been discussed with a retailer and going for $549/$649 as per my previous post on this.

If that would put the 9070xt 629-649 in the UK.

That would be a decent value i think 599 would be better purely because "under 600" sounds a lot better.

I'd be content with 650 i don't know if it will move mountains, but if AMD can keep up with the stock it could prove to be very successful for them.

I'm not confusing anything, I'm saying not only it's not MSRP stated but that it's also meaningless - only how much something cost in a store matter. Prices can go up and down at any point, competition should be a pressure down on all of them but currently they only go up (at least on Nvidia own side of things). There's hope AMD will finally create a proper competition.

Cards can always be cheaper, the cheaper the better (unless it really starts influencing quality and value negatively). But as long as it's reasonable, and most of all, in stock (otherwise scalpers will destroy the value), it would be a progress and down pressure on Nvidia.

He did also state that he is hearing rumours of retailers pushing prices up into €800 area though for release due to the current ongoing scalping and Nvidia shortages.

All with large pinches of salt remember, Just some random internet guy who claims to be able to get these results through a reviewer friend in Spain. He also posted about the 5080 only being about 10% faster than a 4080 last year but got slated in the NVidia subreddit but here we are.
