*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

if these are the true prices, then they are amazing considering nvidia and current market conditions. You are basically getting 4080 performance for £600, its the kind of generational price/performance we should have got but NVidia decided to take us all to dry cleaners. I hope they regain market share, if these cards get cold reception then everybody who buy NVidia deserves these idiotic prices.
Just by themselves, it's still way too high for a mid, but in the market situation Nvidia created, looks much better indeed.

Eh... Or they're not mature enough to talk to their partners like adults and make bad financial decisions. £2500 is a ton of money for some people, and just like any personal luxury purchase, tons of people overextend themselves because they feel like they "have to have it" and/or "deserve it" without discussing what might be a bad decision as a unit.

Even I, for whom this amount isn't a huge deal, know tell my wife to expect a charge on our card lest she think it's fraud or thinks I've gone squirrelly buying a £2k+ video game toy (for which she would have a very valid point :) ). For others, it's a more inportant discussion to be had about budgeting, savings, and the value of things.
Mine didn't mind me getting 4090, as long as I drop the topic finally. ;p but yeah, in our case that had 0 influence on our financial situation but it still felt way too much for a graphics card - gladly, it paid for itself with work done. :)

I’m looking forward to hearing about FSR4 and how it stacks up with the transformer model DLSS4.

AMD still suffers, in my personal perception, for offering poor upscaling… but this has probably been an outdated view for some time (even if it was fair a couple of years ago).

Same, it's very interesting. But one thing to remember is that with AI they can also change the model to transformer, just like Nvidia did (if they didn't already). These models are known and open source, it's just a matter of massaging it for a given architecture and train properly.

Had, just as I predicted forums in other places are already full of complaints of either the price still too high to get their beloved Nvidia to drop their prices or "it's so cheap, must be much slower and worse than Nvidia, I'll wait for 5070Ti instead!". AMD can't win such people, no matter what they do. It will take much more than 1 good release.

The problem with AMD GPU's is they never have a successful sequel

This is a nice looking card :D

Some of us have seen the rumors about this card, here it is basically confirmed to have the 12v-2x6 connector.

I wonder if Sapphire are sitting nervous with that connector choice now after the issues noticed on the 5080/5090. Power draw should be a good bit less mind you...

won't be buying any card with that stupid connector

Eh, the forum people don't matter much. AMD's problem will be convincing normies to switch (which will take also convincing some enthusiasts in order for the word to spread and the reputation to be built up). More than anything that will rely on their marketing & sales departments, but as we all know those are complete horror shows @ AMD.

That being said Nvida - $150 is ultimately not a crazy deal. You still lose in performance (RT & PT), you still have worse upscaling & AA, you still miss out on all the other features, driver support is still subpar, etc. if 9070 XT was exactly equivalent to the 5070 Ti then a $150 discount would be great but as it is there is no discount, there is only a trade-off between a lower price vs more perf/features/support.

As anyone who has ever had to sell knows it's a tough, tough situation to be in when you want to convince someone to switch from one vendor to another, and an offer of "slightly worse for a little less money" is never going to be enthusiastically received. IMO AMD simply doesn't have that as a strategic objective either, which is why they're okay with the current sales numbers & profit margins. Sure, they'd like more/higher but only if they somehow fall from the sky, not actually making drastic changes to their org.
