** Kingdom Come : Deliverance 2 **

Not sure if a bug, but when I start the wedding quest and you get there, after the initially chat where you offer to take care of the beggers you go straight to cut scenes and then after those you are in a jail cell...

Wtf? Reloaded and the same happened.

Sounds like a bug. A jail cell is involved later, but there's a lot more that occurs beforehand.

So... normally if I do a an unlawful thing, someone comes and I can just pay the fine and move on.
But here comes a quest where you're again stripped of everything, thrown in jail and forced to do what the games wants you to do with no option to PAY the fine, although I'm pretty loaded...

Fine, I do the stealth, but the time is running out, so I start to run, kinda kill some guards, house wifes, etc. Of course everyone magically knows it was me (after all, telepathy WAS a thing in middle ages). A few moments later, I trigger the cut scene to progress the quest and all is well afterwards :)

Ah, and I can't unlock a jail door to save someone because... "jail door plot" even though I've maxed out the skill. :))

I wish devs would actually commit to an open world gameplay and not force feed you BS like that to fill the otherwise linear story.

But, kudos to them for allowing to pick locks to traders and steal their most valuable merchandise and for NPC to don't have the usual BS of 1-2 arrows if you take them out - you know, the crappy "survival" aspect of artificial difficulty. :)) Stealing/taking everything from NPCs and repairing / selling is a good and easy way to progress and make money.

Ah, why on God's green Earth Henry can't make camp himself where to sleep and cook?!

That aside, is very good.

I mean technically speaking, if we're heading down the route of only allowing things that WERE a thing in the middle ages, you shouldnt be able to take multiple sword, mace and arrow hits and just apply a bandage and make it all better, you shouldnt be able to be near death and sleep for a night and be right as rain again and if you die in combat you shouldnt be able to hit try again, reverse the space time continuum and give it another shot, instead when you die it should stop the game , uninstall it from your hard drive and not allow you to reinstall it :D

Nor would alchemy… I mean actual alchemy that works instead of producing questionable liquids and snake oil. The save schnapps and healing potions and potions to make you stronger etc are all pure gamey nonsense. So I kind of cringe when people tell me KCD 1 and 2 are historically accurate.

A long way to say "it's just a game". :)

Thing is... this attitude doesn't promote evolution.

Its not really that its "just a game" , its that certain things must be gamified in order to progress a story line. Hence the quest you mentioned pans out in the way it did because it was necessary gamification in order to progress the story. The whole telepathy wasnt a thing in the middle ages is obvious but again its a necessary game mechanic because to not have anything of its ilk would actually be far worse because it would make that entire aspect of the game mechanics fundamentally broken. It would be a good case of when its not the best idea to listen to the players because many times what the player thinks they want they ultimately wouldnt want.

If for example you could steal, kill and nobody ever knows it was you then the game would be pretty boring because the player could simply trot about at night lockpicking into everything, killing everyone and stealing everything, with no way of ever being found out because dna forensics didnt exist in medieval times, so its a necessary gamification. Sure, its not historically accurate to the middle ages but an historically accurate Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 would be a VERY poor game indeed.

Just started this.
Lots of Go to point A > B > A > B.
Looks very pretty.
Do you get used to the sword combat style? I'm finding it very frustrating but that might just be my age.

Yes it's not a hack and slash though, there's a good video posted in this thread and it's easier to use blunt maces if you are struggling with swords, still fun giving someone a smack :) For me I found if my FPS was low the fighting was awkward but smoother gameplay made it feel better.

Yes. A bit of practice, a few upgrades, better armour etc and your do fine in the combat.

I found it tough at the beginning too.

I really can't get the hang of combat. When directed by Tomcat to perform UP, LEFT, RIGHT for example, am I supposed to be 'pulling' the mouse up, left, right or using the W, A, D direction keys or both? Anything I do seems to give random results and not what I intended.

It's the mouse movements. The arrows in the centre of the screen should turn red when you're in the right area.

Another tip is don't rush the combo, otherwise you just repeat moves

You also have to realize that when e.g. your sword is on your left and you swing, it will be then on the right automatically. You do not need to select that direction again.

Mutt, just casually flirting with the ladies

Been putting the hours into the main story which has been a lot of fun.

What did you guys do? I ended up going Samine, killed van bergows men who were out of hand. Burned the place and went back to report van bergow :D

Oh and went back and robbed the nomads blind a second time as they were fully restocked. Lol.

Not noticed my rep go down yet :D

Level 14 now I think. Fun game. Going to continue main story.
