I have no idea who will win the driver's title, there are so many unknowns leading into what looks like a super tight championship.

Consistency will be key and that fact probably favours Verstappen, Hamilton and Norris, not necessarily in that order of course.

I expect Lawson to make a good account of himself in the second half of the season when he starts racing at circuits he knows.

Roll on Melbourne, let's get the season underway!

I would love Lewis to win the drivers' championship.

Me too. I really would like to see him break a new record of winning 8 world championships and surpassing Michael Schumacher. Imagine if he did that. It would probably be decades before anyone else could ever match that let alone beat it. Although saying that, Verstappen is halfway there so he could potentially do it before the end of this decade but unlikely.

It would be awesome if he won an 8th World Championship! One can hope.

Do we think the unpodiumable Hulk will still have his record at the end of the year?

Who am I kidding. He’s driving for Sauber, of course he will :D

You never know, but very unlikely.

It's insane that a driver of Hülkenberg's pedigree has never stood on an F1 podium.

Really want it to be Lando but at this stage and before the first round of big updates it's very hard to know. Been a McLaren fan since late 90s Hakkinen era so absolutely would love Lando or Piastri to get it this year.

Voted Hamilton and firmly believe if Ferrari can get a car into a position that works for him; He'll have a chance.

Would like to see anyone bar Verstappen, but I think he'll do it again because McLaren will take points off each other. If I had to pick one of the McLaren's, Piastri.

That's really only a factor though if Norris/Piastri alternative who's fastest with Verstappen splitting them. I do think the McLaren drivers will take points off each other but so far, it seems if it's a normal weekend, both will finish ahead of Verstappen.

A few races in and my prediction/hope of Hamilton is not looking good. Ferrari are struggling more than I expected. I think I put the odds right now at something like Norris 35% Piastri 27% Verstappen 28% Someone else 10% and that last is presuming that the mid-season changes to wing flexing rules have a substantial impact.

There is a close to zero chance Hamilton wins the championship this season. Even if Ferrari somehow bring an upgrade that makes them the consistently faster car, he'll have Leclerc to contend with who's been at the team years, with Lewis having only done 4 races.

I agree, although for different reasons

Hamilton has the experience of winning championships that Leclerc doesn't. I think, given a car that is capable of winning the WDC, Lewis is the more likely of the two to turn that capability into reality. Rather moot this season, however, since that Ferrari doesn't look to have the chops.

Oh, and after Bahrain, I flip the chances of Norris and Piastri. Oscar is looking much more credible than Lando right now.

I really like Leclerc but he has not been a terribly consistent driver- and it seems to come down to confidence (like Lando). Like Lando, if he gets in a position to fight for a WDC in my opinion he may start trying too hard, make mistakes etc. and all of the inconsistencies will rear their head.

If Ferrari get into a position that McLaren are in now, it’d be really interesting.
