*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

Its supply and demand, if demand out strips supply the price goes up, when supply outstrips demand the price goes down.
When only 2 company make GPUs in any number it’s easy to control supply and keep stock tight or even create a perpetual shortage. a

After the crypto mining crash we didn’t see a big fall in prices despite a huge oversupply of GPUs because they would rather store them in warehouses and drip feed them in than create and oversupply.

Really, are you truly not able to grasp how this has played out as far as pricing goes?

AMD are subsidising a limited run of cards at their “MSRP”. It’s fine, it really is because even then it is still better than the prices and stock levels Nvidia have been pushing.

But please stope deluding yourself that the 9070 and XT “MSRP” is real. Gibbo has already clarified the “rebates” are limited.

Why is Frank Azor propagating this fake msrp idea? I suspect if prices rise which they will less people will buy when Jensen floods the market with 5070tis at close to msrp. I know if I’m spending £700 I’d rather go with Nvidia for the better feature set and prowess esp path tracing.

Remember what Steve said; if the 9070xt sells out it means this one model has outsold the entire rtx5000 lineup combined. Right now AMD have more market share than Nvidia has with its RTX5000

They are just doing the opposite of what they usually do. Pricing it too high and getting bad reviews.
A fake MSRP to begin with just means they get good reviews, and positive mindset. People are happy to bend over and take it after the good review.

My brother managed to grab a Nitro+, should pair nicely with his 7800X3D.

On the other hand he ended up paying about £700 for one, he had been aiming for the Pulse but that was more than expected.

He got it from a competitor as OCUK wouldn't load, the same experience (and same competitor) I had when getting my 5080.

I hope MSRP models continue to be available for those that weren't able to buy one today.

I hate to break it to you mate, but you ain't path tracing with a 5070ti at any kind of playable framerate.

I caved and bought a 9070 (non XT). Read pretty much every review out there and the performance uplift didn’t seem worth the additional cost or power draw to me. I’m really pleased to see how efficient the 9070 is in comparison. Sold my 7700 XT for the same price I bought it for six months ago so it was a pretty reasonable upgrade overall.

Yeah the 9070 is looking very interesting for the power draw conscious buyer. Hopefully we will see them drop to £499 in good time.

I have no idea why, all I see is good stock and good prices

People will always be mad at something
I don't see any stock and I don't see any good prices either.

I would say I'm taking this lack of stock (especially stock at decent prices) as a sign that AMD doesn't want my business so I won't give it to them.
However, it seems that also applies to Nvidia and I would quite like to buy a graphics card, so feels like I'm gonna have to give one of them my business.

Today has not been a good day (for me at least)...

Yeah, the more I look at the 9070 the more impressed I get. Roughly 7900 XT in raster and much improved RT and still with 16GB. All while sipping power.

At £499 they will be unbeatable. If AMD can get them to that this year I could see it being the card of the year tbh!

Well they haven't sold out at £539, I expect they will sell well Friday and into the weekend, if there is enough volume coming through I think £499 is attainable. Actually if other shops would do them at £539 then 499 is kinda attainable now with codes.
