Ghosts? Are you a believer? I didn't really until this happened..

I wasn't until I saw a black witch then years later, possibly three spirits/entities/ghosts/apparitions. I can't be 100% sure so I say possibly, but it would have been highly unusual for them to be people.

No I'm not a believer. I expect you were both probably slightly freaked out by the remote sounding environment. Dreams can seem very real, especially when you are half awake. People can move pictures around. I expect they were hoping you would write about this so they would get more guests.

Few weeks back I woke up with a start and could distinctly hear the sound of smashing glass, like if someone dropped dozens of glass bottles from a height kind of noise, as I woke up - everyone else was like nope definitely no sound of smashing glass LOL.

Heard the exact same thing as a kid when I got woken up in the early hours by a milk float being flipped over in an accident at the junction outside my house so wonder if an auditory hallucination of an old event :s

Hallucinations are an explained and known phenomenon which often happen when we are close to a sleep state (i.e. just about to fall asleep / just about to wake up / just woken up).

Not that I do/don't believe in ghosts, but stories like this are often attributable to that sort of thing.

I've told this story before on here. A mate and I finished a night out early in Bolton and had to walk across the town to get to a B&B we rented a room for the night.

Taking the quickest route back involved us cutting through the red light area. After walking down the main side road, past old factories, we turned the corner to walk down another road.

I was following my friend and as we turned the corner I walked into what I first thought was a prostitute, so I started to try and brace for impact. Then I thought from this angle I should have made contact by now. I started to back off, while still looking at whatever this was.

As I backed away I just saw a distorted mist. Like there was something there but I couldn't make out a figure. All around the mist my eyesight was clear. I just knew if I blinked it would be gone. I blinked and it was gone.

I looked around to my friend to ask if he saw anything. I could already tell he did by the look on his face.

More recently I found who it was;

There is also a mist sighting of her in the 1980s.

I have heard of ghosts and strange phenomena off trusted people throughout my life. I think there is something happening that we haven't evolved to understand yet.

I don't believe in them or any after life.

My mum said she saw the ghost of her mum or grandma not long after they died.
One of my exes claims there was a knock on her window at the moment her mum must have passed away.

I once saw a girl waking in a house landing, did a double take and she was gone.
another time I was walking around a park at about 4am, pitch black.
something I used to do almost daily, so I wasn't scared or anything.

I thought someone was walking towards me, so I stepped to the side to give them room, but no one was there. could have been a trick of shadows, but it really looked like the outline of a person was about 6-8ft away walking towards me.

My mum also once told me when she worked at a coop they used to sometimes do quija boards on staff breaks, she claims one time the thing shot off the board across the room harder than someone could have thrown it..

I once slept in some stables with 2 women, we slept up top on what was basically a small shelf aboput 8ftx5ft

In the night we heard something moving below us in the hay, not sure if it were one of their dads checking up on us, or something more sinister.

none of us had the balls to climb down the ladder and find out, probably a fox or something though I'd guess.,

No, I don’t believe in things which don’t exist.

Is there a TL;DR version of the OP?

When I was around six I saw a woman in a mirror while I was alone in a room, freaked me out no end. Again when I was around 12-13 after moving into a new home, I saw a reflection of an angry old man glaring at me in the window of my bedroom late at night. I attribute both to having an over active imagination and being a child, but at the time they felt very real and are things that stuck in my mind.

I've experienced one or two other strange things over the years, but again they're easily reasoned down to more mundane things than the supernatural.

I can't say that I believe or disbelieve, some things are unknowable. I'm religiously agnostic too, although leaning towards atheism. Ultimately I'm not that invested in the truth of those things, they're interesting to a degree, but I'm of the mindset that I'll find out when I'm dead.

The challenge to the none believers is, would you be prepared to use a ouija board at night in a known haunted building on your own?
