Might tempt me to switch out my AM4/5800X3D if the price is right!
I mean totally. I mean what stops someone buying a 9950x3d disabling one of the ccd’s to effectively get a 9800x3d on steroids. None of this pedestrian 5.4ghz malarkey but 5.7ghz+….

*looks around*

And then it claims for “tinkering” purposes…

Oh wait :/

;)

Few reviews are out and it looks like another winner.

TLDR version:If gaming or on a budget get the 9800x3d. If you want the really best all round CPU get the 9950x3d.

Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war. Another day 1 order, not that I have FOMO...not at all...

:P

Man, the Total War benches on this review seriously make me want a 9800x3d or 9950x3d...

Almost double the 1% lows compared to a 14700k (and im on a 12700k so even slower).

Crazy how effective that 3d cache is for some games!!

53% faster than a 285K / 14900K.

Am I reading into this correctly, the Ryzen 9 9900X3D will have 8 cores with the Vcache, and 4 without it? That already makes it much better over the 7900X3D where it's just 6 cores with it, and 6 without it.

I'm still sticking with 9800X3D, it's still plenty for my needs.

9950x is 5.7ghz
9800x3d is 5.2ghz

It's the normal cores of a 9950x3d that are hitting 5.7ghz, turn them off and you have a 9800x3d again

I was hoping this would be the case, but as far as I can see it has two 6 core ccds which makes it a very awkward CPU really, considering it's so sandwiches between the 9800x3d and 9950x3d price wise.

No idea where you think you are reading anything correctly. 3Dcache is currently implemented per CCD, so the 9900x has 6 with it and 6 without.

Hope more people think like you so there is a good chance of me getting one in a couple of hours time
Even if that was the case the scalpers will be all over these 2 processors to sell them on for a stupid amount of money when stock it all gone.

lets hope the changes to the site help stop bots etc trying to get them before everyone else that actually wants 1
