NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

Was surprised to see a notification on the Hot Stock App which is probably why they sold out even quicker than last month  congrats to everyone who bagged one though, welcome to the FE club :D

Did you click right away? I could never add to basket even though the button was there.

I had the 5090FE and 5080FE selected on NV store filter (see picture below), and was manually clicking on the 5080FE to remove it from the filter this refreshes the page without getting you banned/blocked (which then requires you to delete the cookie). Reselecting the 5080FE then again refreshes it (giving a chance of the buy button appearing).

By doing this I had the buy button appear a second or two before the discord channel & https://notify-fe.plen.io/ notifications I had setup. Buy button didn't respond instantly, took around 3 seconds to load the retailer's website where I had to fill in my details manually (even though I was logged into my account there already in preparation etc).

Was expecting my pathetic bank to block the payment again, but this time it went through, phew lol.

All good tips. There is still an element of luck as it depends where in the refresh cycle you happen to be when it drops. Same is true for the tools.
I was also pre-logged in to the retailer's site and so was surprised about the manual entry part.

Yeah 100% still an element of luck, though this drop appears to have been a big one, judging by how many got one (on discord/telegram channels).

Scalpers will be crying if FE stock continues to land with more regularity! It's rumoured/suspected that the FE drops stopped for a month due to the manual labour involved in unboxing, testing for ROPS and reboxing etc, so I hope we now see regular drops, MSRP for all!

How did you know when to start refreshing though? API change?

I’ll see you guys in another month.. I doubt FE will have more stock just because of the manual ROPS testing. Americans kept getting drops daily through the priority scheme for the past month.

I also thought we might get 10 seconds of stock since it’s been so long.. I clicked after 3 seconds.. Add to Basket was still available.. yet nothing.

Yea, https://notify-fe.plen.io/ will tell you when the API goes down (goes red), this is a sign a drop is likely in coming minutes/hours.

I also joined "CoreFinder" discord channel, which has audio alerts when the API changes, as well as when the actual drop happens. Though by manually refreshing, I saw the buy button a few seconds before the notification.

Good thing about discord is you can set it up to get notifications on your phone/watch, so can never miss it really.

Just pure luck if you get one.
Thanks to @Shaolin Chicken stating they went live, I went to the page and OOS.
Spent the next two minutes smashing F5 and came in stock and purchased right away.

I am glad I got MSRP card but also not totally keen on the FE due to issues with the cards.
I only wanted an MSRP card, so that's why I got a founders edition, I was lucky enough to get one in the last drop last month.
Haven't built my system yet, so hoping I don't have any missing rops

It is annoying that they have not done this for UK & EU. I've been on the GeForce Advisory Panel thing for years, filing in surveys. You would think that would at least earn you a place in the queue.
Nvidia haven't even emailed me to notify me that the cards are available.

Look at it this way. When 6090 releases in 12, 18 or 24 months, pretty much all 5090's will sell for a similar price. You won't see Astrals selling for £1000+ more.

The FE may actually be the more desirable and popular card, due to it's much smaller size and greater compatibility with cases.

The only thing the huge AIB cards have going for them is noise - though there's no guarantee you won't get a really loud coil whine card anyway, this negates any fan noise reduction from a huge card.

Ordinarily I'd prefer the quietest card, such as MSI Suprim. Though I'm not paying £1k+ for it

Bah I have given up. Wanted an FE 5080 or 5090, but missed the drop again. Editing 10-bit 422 HEVC on my CPU is making me die a little inside every day so just ordered a 5070ti so at least my video editing will be painfree.

Might even keep my 4070 in and see how da vinci resolve goes with multi-GPU.

I've had the Notify API running since this time last month. Yesterday, it gave me 2 red lights - API State and Stock... and didn't seem like it was doing anything.
Pretty gutted that I didn't even have the chance to try and get one in my basket! Hopefully get my 5090 TUF OC soon, but would have rather had an FE and £600 extra in my pocket!

So many people are in the barcode queue, getting FE's should be easier, because the queue prevents them getting an FE due to the one card per address policy.

That said today there must have only been a couple of cards availble because they were sold out immediatley
