The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

I shall wish you luck.

Yet another reason why we hate windows. Personally just waiting for the linux firmware/drivers to be ironed out and I'm back there in a heart beat.
Im running cachyos, had to use mesa-git from package installer and using the rc kernel. But apart from that all working out the box, except adaptive sync, however Ive never had an AMD card to try it before so It might be my monitor or something else completely.

What sort of board power consumption is everyone getting on their cards once overclocked.

Just wondered given the Red Devil and the gigabytes that have 3X 8pins- how much do they draw. I heard AMD capped max OC consumption at 340w?

Isn’t 3x 8pins overkill as the 2x 8pins should be able to supply 300w + PCIe slot 75w is 375W which should be plenty for overclocking..

I saw a YTuber overclock a steel legend to 3336mhz and 340wish board power on 2x 8pins…got 6% overclock.

To be pedantic, only 66W at 12V is provided via the PCIe slot, but my card has drawn 380W, and not all cards utilize the PCIe slot for supplementary power.

I hope we see some power unlock mods cause my non XT has more in the tank but that measly 10% max power is holding it back. "Balls to the wall" +10% max power and a -100mv gives me 3ghz boost clocks when gaming without RT and 250-255 watts of power draw.

That's deliberate segmentation at that point. You would jump up to an XT then.

As per the video above there are power ranges between the cards, between 303W and 340W.

A 303W card can go up to 334W and a 340W card can go up to 373W.

ASIC quality starts to matter more though I think.

does it even matter to get the red devil or nitro+ as this guy on the video overclocked to 3.3ghz on basic model asrock steel legend , is it really the silicon loterry or the components used ?

Yeah tale as old as time ASIC quality is always the true decider

No I wouldn't :P not at the prices they want for an XT. I'm well aware that it's segmentation from AMD but that hasn't stopped brilliant people in the past from doing fun mods that extracts more from the hardware than what the manufacturer intended ;)

That’s what Der Bauer found when he tried overclocking the Red Devil LE… he didn’t get much overclock potential.

Windows 11 decided it was going to overwrite my chosen GPU driver, again. Also, does anyone know how to remove the "Manage Updates" button that has appeared in the AMD app and revert it back to "Check for Updates"?

i just doubled checked i 100% downloaded newest. it was, whql-amd-software-adrenalin-edition-25.3.1-win10-win11-march-rdna, yet this
fef.png

so it was rolled back last night or this morning, but strangely windows update is now showing an update pending for AMD drivers, what is this mad world i become involved in
yes, i had no notice or indication it had updated anything - just felt the Adrenaline interface was slightly "different" and noticed I couldn't find any auto-update option... then went to look what I downloaded and realised it had rolled back a few versions. quite annoying.

I guess it's partially AMD's fault for incorrectly signing the latest version and M$ for the stupid auto-update (know that didn't happen with Nvidia - as it was the GeForce Experience that kept moaning at me that there were updates available)

I've just woken my PC from sleep and noticed the AMD SmartAccess Memory (SAM) is disabled again :S wtf?!? why?!?

does it only work with a fresh boot??? has it rolled back again and I need to reboot for it to complete? Is the SAM actually worth it, or do I ignore this?

i am confused about the core overclock , some people say dont touch the max frequency offset and just do the undervolt and the card will boost on its own , some people put some offset , has anyone done some comparisons , and is fast timings much more unstable when selected ? and also some people use asus gpu tweak to overclock some use the built in software overclock ? which is better , i know on nvidia card i would use the asus gpu tweak only cause the memory was limited to +2000mhz on msi afterburner but not on asus gpu tweak

That's quite a noise—I thought it was a cicada for a moment.
Ahaha for real dude, i thought it sounds so odd. But then again i ordered one card from amazon and one from overclockers, both make the same noises…

…so now im starting to think maybe it’s because im daisy chaining in my pcie 8-pin connectors, as i’ve only got two cables and three slots.

It could also be maybe a graphics setting in BIOS, if anyone has any clues?

My last bet is maybe an issue with my gpu riser cable as it’s a 4.0 cable that’s included with my case.
