TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS DRIVERS/BIOS

In regards to doing a BIOS flash can I just do it as is ie I don't need to reset all my settings prior to flashing?

Obviously I'll write everything down or take pics
Depending on what BIOS version you are running prior to upgrade.....you can save out your setting to USB and reload after the flash.
If you are jumping ahead quite a few different versions then youll have to reload them manually. But you also have the option to save all your settings out as a .txt file, save you having to write them all down.

As for resetting, Just select load default settings, save and exit and re-enter the bios and flash from there.......actually iirc this board does that for you. Not 100% but I think so ...

Now using the latest bios, and damn that was nerve wracking!

Even worse when it said successfully saved profile back up to USB and when I came to load them it hadn't saved anything

Also the constant reboots

Have you checked your USB stick to see if there are actually any files on there ?

As you have two options of saving, one will save as a txt file which is purely just for reading yourself and the other a .CMO file which is what the BIOS settings load back in from.

It saved a txt and a CMO file, but every time you go to load it shows nothing. Perhaps it was because of the big difference in bios updates?

Thankfully I took a picture of all the screens on my mobile :D

Been playing Kingdom Come 2 most of this evening, seems fine

you have the txt file , all your settings are in there.
When it doesnt allow you to restore it usually says so. but the files still show.
so whats happening there I dont know :)

7.02.13.148 broke the game detection from gamebar on my 7950X3D and wouldn't disable cores.

Reverting to the ones listed on Asus fixed this.

Think I will stick with what I have, if it's not broke and all that.

One quick way to tell for future reference.

Open resource monitor and expand cpu

Open the gamebar overlay and select remember this is a game

Close and reopen resource monitor and if all is well you should see half the cores parked.

Wonder if it's what's included in the latest version of "BUG FIXES"

Hi everyone.

I've had this motherboard (TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS) for just over a year now and so far ive not had any major issues with it (odd glitch here and there), ive not updated the BIOS in this time and ive stuck with the one that it was shipped with (which at the time of recipt was the latest available). This BIOS version is 2613.

Id like to update the bios now to a later version.

Is there any particular BIOS version that is recommended for features and stability (if not the most latest available) and can i jump to this new version of the BIOS in a single leap from where i am right now. (Somestimes BIOS and Firmware require a minimum version before proceeding upwards).

I plan to update the Firmware within the UEFI, i have some changed settings (obviously) within, but im not sure if these settings remain after the update? Do they? If not is there a setting backup before i proceed?

Thanks in advance for any assistance :)

I've currently got a "power on" issue after updating to bios version 3256.

It's an intermittent issue, but say I shut down my pc and power it back on right away it turns on normally in most cases.

If I leave it shut down overnight and go to power it on the next day, the power button on my pc has no response. I have to power cycle my psu by flipping the switch on the back, count to 10 and then flip it back on. Only then will I be able to use the power button on the pc to turn it on normally.

Initially I thought it was my PSU being faulty. It's an HX1000i from Corsair. I opened a ticket with Corsair and got a replacement sent to me this week. I installed it yesterday only to discover I still have the same issue which makes me believe that the 3256 bios has a bug.

2 days ago bios version 3278 was released. I updated to 3278 last night as the notes from 3256 bios say: 3. Important: This update is irreversible. Rolling back to older BIOS versions is not supported.

Sadly the issue I have still remains even on 3278.

Today I opened up a support ticket with ASUS and am currently waiting for a response.

I only updated my bios to the latest version (3256) to support the 9800X3D cpu I got last month.

Prior to the bios update everything ran just fine. No issues at all.

Have you tried removing the CMOS battery on the motherboard for 30+ seconds while having the PSU powered off/unplugged.
Its an old school fix for motherboards with post issues.
(of course settings within the UEFI will be reset, so any overlocking or memory settings etc will be defaulted).

(could also be an issue with said battery, they can be replaced (number type written on top of them))

No. I haven't. Thank you for the suggestion. I will give it a go tomorrow and let you know if it manages to fix the issue.

Edit: Pulled the CMOS battery this morning and unfortunately the issue still remains.
