Interesting run of games coming up aslong as we beat Lyon that what counts for me, league is chalked now.

Yeah barring miracles it's hard to see any EPL wins, especially if we keep picking up injuries (probably even without them!). The squad is so slow and sloppy. The matches after those 5 look just a tough.

100% focus on Europa now surely.

I've been pretty negative about the club recently but I do think with the right players we can finish higher (top 10?) so we shouldn't be facing relegation next season. That's a step in the right direction!

no way, really?
Well, look at Villa under Gerard, it's not just the players is it?

And some of us were calling out the crap players ages ago, stating that it wasn't just EtH and a "poorly coached" team.

It is very clear from watching that the players are not suited to Amorims system, Dalot, Eriksen, Mainoo, etc have all failed to adapt. That was my point. No new players will likely result in a 14th place finish again next season.

But yeah, you keep on keeping on.

I think he was just joking to be fair. I would suggest that the club will be expecting a top 6 push next season if we have a successful transfer window and I wouldn't think thats being unreasonable. I would think that next season won't be quite such an anomaly as this one when it comes to top 6 but currently we have had a dog of a season and we are still only 10 points off top 6 at the moment.

The club will need to do some shrewd business in the summer but I don't think its that hard to compete for top 6 in the PL with our resources. Dorgu is probably fine for LWB next season. We need a quality RWB, preferably a top CF, a hard working 10 and a CM and that should be enough. Ultimately we probably need to upgrade twice as many positions as that but that would be enough to be going with.

In somewhat related news, apparently Chelsea are trying to decide whether to pay the very high cost of cancelling Sanchos move in the summer or just accept their fate :p

Hopefully the same doesn't happen with Rashford!

Rashford by all accounts is doing pretty well at Villa. I don't think we have any worries about him coming back. Fingers crossed he continues to do well and we can sell him to one of the big boy clubs. No idea what the agreement with Villa is but if Rashford doesn't want to go there he doesn't have to unless there is something in the loan agreement relating to that. He still has dreams that the likes of Barca will come for him with wheelbarrows of cash.
