Half Life 2 RTX

AMD issue then,

Never doubt the 12th gen CPUs, they are gaming beasts where AMD fails. Either that or that player has a naffed PC config :p

It actually runs better than I expected lol, feels more polished than Portal RTX but then again Neural Caching and Ray reconstruction did not feature in those RTX Remix releases so that is probably why and neither did the Transformer model exist then.

^ 100% of a single core is in use in some instances, the 12th gens were always good with single core performance.

Sounds like good old amd dip then. I suppose it is nvidia tech that made this demo so to be expected that it won't play as nice on amd hardware. Can be very annoying but then I guess there are situations where the 3d cache trounces every other cpu, that and maybe with it being such an old game i.e. back when it was only intel worthwhile considering/using for gaming, this maybe is factoring into the perf diff between your intel + nvidia setup vs amd and nvidia

Echo same thoughts, extremely impressive, much more so than portal rtx, runs and looks better. Hopefully now that this is finally officially released, we will get more RTX remix remasters of old games. I'm still waiting on batman arkham series with path tracing

Won't have PhysX though

All I really want is Deus Ex RTX :D

I'd rather see a ground up remake of the game with PT which actually implemented the original vision, and missing sections, for the game. Although maybe still a bit too on the nose with regard to COVID as the game is supposed to be set within a pandemic lockdown - something they struggled to flesh out with the tech limitations of the time.

Had to turn FG off on my 4090 as it was doing...strange things. The whole image became blurry when moving the mouse and the input lag was horrendous. Turned it off and runs flawlessly.

I've got that effect with the Indian Jones game.

Was running perfectly prior to the major update, and/or latest drivers, not sure which is potentially causing the problem.

Very weird this lately, see similar reports of people saying issues with frame gen, vsync on and gsync panels and so on. Yet it is flawless here on all my drivers so far. Spiderman 2 was a bit hit and miss at one point but then a new update to the game fixed it. Must be some kind of config or/and settings that are causing issues. I think the latest windows update is also playing havoc for folks.

And I would rather win the lotto. But as this is the RTX Remix game thread I would settle for that ;)

Anything less than a 5090,4090 and 5080 for sure it’s a no go for the bells and whistles playable experience.

1080p is just about doable on mid-range 3000 (well 3080+) series cards, though probably have to leave DLSS in auto to keep things ideal. Performance seems a bit hit and miss though with some people getting better or worse performance with the same setup for no apparent reason.

Bah with this mod HL2 keeps making the language toolbar appear, which won't go away until you reboot, an over 10 year old issue MS just ignores...

Can see that even though it says Quality in the RTX Remix option the DLSS overlay in bottom left on @mrk vid is showing 1080p > 3840p :) So probably DLSS Performance being compared to Quality here :D

I would not bother with the overlay text, it does not change going from auto to manual quality whereas the fps does which indicates the mode is working. Not the only display stats bug with the new nv drivers......

Edit, not that it matters anyway, dlss4's performance mode is basically the same Q as the old Quality mode and all RTX card users should be enforcing it in all games.

It's causing all sorts of issues, the worst is some people on steam saying their pc crashes and then refuses to boot windows afterwards
