The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

Are there any tools for tweaking the voltage to frequency curve on the 9070 XT, rather than just using a fixed offset? I prefer overclocking this way and feel I can eek out some more performance.

Guys with a 57000x3d would you go 9070 or 9070xt? Don't want to pay the extra if the xt bottlebecks. I brought a xt for my Ryzen 7700 build but the second pc I have just ordered a 5700x3d upgrade from a 3700x so wondered which card to buy for 1440 (Have a old 3070ti I was going to use with 5700x3d but think I might as well sell and max it out since the 8 GB is starting to show)
The XT won't bottleneck, it's a very good CPU

Got a 5800X3D on MSI B550 Gaming Plus mobo with 32GB DDR 4 3600
with a RTX 4070 running a 2K monitor
Bought a RX 9070 and booted into safe mode to DDU the drivers and shutdown. Swapped cards and installed AMD software Full installation.
Most demanding game Im currently playing is STALKER 2 and the 9070 runs it great in TSR mode - FSR mode looks ugly tbh.
My problem is I cannot get the 9070 to come out of Sleep mode reliably. I switched PCIE from Auto to Gen 4 in the Bios and Im running Windows 11 so UEFI is being used not CSM.
Anything else you can suggest?

so the positive core frequency offset works on 3x8pin gigabyte gaming oc with higher TDP but not on 2x8pin saphire pulse ? why ? i dont think it is power limit , must be locked or something , also der8auer was not able to change it on the red devil

der8auer Is full of crap there is plenty of overclocked Red Devil’s

As for your card you your power limit you need to look it up on the gigabyte site

What model of card do you have

The lower TDP models are entirely power bound.

i agree :) i found it funny he didnt know about the memory corrections when he pushed the memory overclock
i got the

GIGABYTEGAMING OCstock boost 30603 x 8-pin330w stock / 363w +10 power limit

so goes 363w , testing +250 frequency offset as we speak which brings me to 3465mhz with heaven benchmark
the core doesnt look like boost the performance a lot correct ? more important is the memory clock ? first time amd user since the HD era of radeon :) overclocking looks more complicated than nvidia to me as there is no artifacting
ok i think i got it , frequency offset doesnt do a thing in steel nomad as it is power limited uses all 363w tdp and stays around 2950mhz but when there is room with the tdp the card clocks to 3465 with the +250 offset which was the case with heaven benchmark

My Nitro+ finally arrived today.
This is stock, I'll have a play at the weekend.

For future monitor upgrade, should I stick with 1440p or consider 4K? What if I use FSR scaling to 4K does it have a large hit in performance, or not much? If I go for QD oled people complain that because of the pixel structure 1440p there is purple haze, but 4K won't show that because of the much smaller pixels.

I'm using my 9070 with a 5700X3D and it's great, no bottlenecking. Easy to max out the GPU, especially at 4K.

I can't see any reason why it would bottleneck the XT, they're very similar cards.

Thanks the reason I asked is when I check on bottleneck website says the CPU will bottleneck the xt by 8 percent and recommends you keep it below 5. The non xt says it 3 percent CPU bottleneck.

Those websites are a load of pish.

The word bottleneck is thrown around too much these days, it's kind of lost its meaning. There is always going to be a part of the system that is the 'bottleneck' however unless you're running parts with huge disparities, you need not worry.

Did a Speedway run and got a blip to 465W on the Sapphire Pulse XT  I guess it could've been an error?

Score 6565 - -80mV, +10% pwr, 2600 mem

Can you access the full run's graphs after you close 3Dmark?

it pretty much changes from game to game as well

there is no one % chance of any of it my 10400f doesnt bottle neck in the games Iam playing but could do with a new build tbh when I can be arsed

Well my 7090 XT arrived today and it's probably just buyers remorse, but I'm wondering if I should return it and wait for one at MSRP.
As I've said before I wasn't expecting it until next month so thought I'd have more time to ponder my decision.

Of course the lazy part of me is thinking to just keep the card and not worry about it as it's less effort than sending it back.

I paid £650 even though my max was £630, and I think it's well worth the money

You have it don't look at prices for the next year just enjoy it. I did not order a 7900xt because I was waiting for it to drop below 600. When I saw 1 in Dec at that price I thought I would wait for the new gen and have just paid 650 for a XT. If I have just brought it I would have had a card for over a year and I've still spent the same money.

There's probably some voodoo magic that's going on between the AMD ryzens and the 9070s too...

My CPU (5800x3d) seems perfectly matched with the 9070xt utilisation wise.

Apparently Yeston (the brand) has predicted supply will improve after April. Gonna kick myself if I keep it and prices improve or if I send it back and they don't...
I always seem to do it, I buy something AMD and then a few weeks later it drops in price.
