Sim racers - what are you running?

I've had many triple setups and I wouldn't do it again. It's just too much of a pain. There's something really nice about the simplicity of 1 big monitor. In the end I went for a 55 inch OLED and called it quits at that. If I wanted more immersion I just used VR.
I did buy myself a VR headset but very quickly went back to the ultrawide. Long, hot sweaty races wit a VR headset stuck to ones face wasn't a pleasurable experience.

Yea for races I just used the big screen I just meant if I wanted that extra bit of immersion for the odd 30-40 mins I'd use VR but I agree it's not very comfortable.

For me the triples really annoyed me in many ways but then again I'm really sensitive to visuals. For me the warping of the triples, the bezels and having to live with most of the screen being out of alignment really irritated me to the point that I sold them all a week later.

I have the 49 as well, but I'm definitely going triple 32".

How many of you are running a dedicated PC for your sim ?
I'm not currently but switching between monitors can be a bit of a pain sometimes, sound not working etc.

I have an old ryzen system I'm not using, all it needs is a 5000 series ryzen and a GPU and its good to go.

I try to keep it as simple as possible - triples as 2nd monitor in Windows, 34" UW as primary on my desk. Nvidia Surround for triples, sim running in fullscreen and always set to run on 2nd monitor, Win+p to go to 'PC Screen Only' when not using the rig, and sim told to use specific audio either via the sim itself or Windows. Only hiccup is trying to launch the sim without going back to Extend occasionally, but other than that it's simple and works every time. You do lose overlays running fullscreen but I'm not fussed to be honest.

I use Win+P to switch setups too. I have triples on the rig plus a dashboard display, and monitor on the desk. I have my desktop monitor set under 'second screen only' or whatever it's called, and it works nicely. Switched audio to my speakers vs headphones too.

Quite often audio gets confused when I switch monitors with win+p
Not helped by the fact that audio for desktop monitor is via hdmi to an av reciever that auto powers off
I have a nobsound USB amp for a bass shaker that loses connection sometimes as well.

so my FGT succumed to my LC brakes and completely broke and twisted the pedal tray mount, so upgrade time. anyone any experience of upshift, as tbh seems too good to be true, cant find any reviews, only forum posts, looking at just over £600 for monitor mount, seat and rig, seems soo cheap?

its a 80x40 ali profile rig, it will be solid.

I don't understand why people pay so much to the likes of sim-labs, Trak racer etc, for ali profile rigs, they might add some little touches to it that make it looks slightly better but its just ali profile.

Cheers, it does look decent tbf, just worried quality wise compared to the likes of sim lab etc and at just over £600 all in seems a bargain. I will speak to them and see. Cheers

i succumed, worth a punt at that price all in, shall report back after building

I will try this in here first. Does anybody use the Beam Eye Tracker software with a webcam? If so is it any good? How does it compare to TrackIR? I have had a try with TrackIR in the past and couldn't get on with it as I used to end up with a sore neck and just didn't get anything out of it but Beam tracks the eyes so it may be better for me. I am not a racer but I do have a DD wheel, pedals, truck shifter and button boxes and mainly play ETS2/ATS and every now and then FSX and I have read that some find it useful for those games. So whaat do the people of the forum think?

My GT Omega Prime Lite (80x40) with bucket seat was only £80 more than this. Looking at the differences : It came with a side mounting gear shift/mouse pad panels, the wheel uprights look to have a more robust connection to the main rig along with some quick release levers for tool free adjustment and the seat has slider adjustment too.

I didn't realise the GT Omega rigs were that cheap actually.

I bought those pedals recently, how are you getting on with the brake ? it feels quite different to my last break.

I'm waiting for them to be delivered :)
just a heads up, if you want to add simagic haptics, you can get a 3D print file from sim-labs discord, but it needs modifying otherwise it just breaks when you tighten up the screws.
I found a guy on ebay that printed it for me and he only charged me £5 per bracket and a few quid postage. there is someone selling them on etsy but they want £15 per bracket + postage
