The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

I paid £650 even though my max was £630, and I think it's well worth the money

You have it don't look at prices for the next year just enjoy it. I did not order a 7900xt because I was waiting for it to drop below 600. When I saw 1 in Dec at that price I thought I would wait for the new gen and have just paid 650 for a XT. If I have just brought it I would have had a card for over a year and I've still spent the same money.

I had a 9070XT (£670 so £100 over msrp) for exactly 24hrs and buyer’s remorse kicked in and I returned vowing to make do for a generation but I’ll likely succumb again to my frivolous side if a msrp model comes again for £570.

yeah pures not an MSRP card you've at most probs only over paid by like £30 tops

After sleeping in it I'm still not 100% sure what I want to do, but the thought did occur to me that if I return it, how long do I then wait? Do I wait for a £10 drop? £20? Do I wait for MSRP? Will they start to drop lower than that? How long will that take, how long do I wait?

This is the thing with Nvidia cards, it's rare that they drop prices by a significant amount. Although you do have to worry about them releasing Ti and SUPER versions...

Gameplay.

Can't remember during the benchmark, can give that a rerun later though.

E: I'll be honest I've not looked in detail into it so although it does max out I can't say how often it does that, or just hit it at a peak on a random point during gaming, for example.

E: E: Couldn't resist and ran a quick benchmark and quickly checked GPU-Z that showed a sustained 99/100% in the benchmark
For the last half hour to an hour of gameplay I've had, the CPU has been at around 60-70% with the GPU maxed. For my limited testing it seems to be when the NPC number increases above a certain point. Like near jig jig street. I'll post a picture or 2 below for illustration of one of the problematic areas. Paning the camera here fast enough causes 90+% cpu util. Also notice the GPU 99th% in the photo. That is from standing still looking at the same spot with no camera movement.

im running -75mv -20% power with 2800mhz with fast timings on my reaper xt around the 245w area at 4k high(NO RT) in cyberpunk, is there scope for improvement? its around 130fps but i think andrenaline is running fluid motion frames

If it was me, I would install it, check I am happy with performance and software, run a load of tests for games, if all is well keep it and forget about it until next gen

GPU usage is around the 95% most of the time but I do see brief drops to 80ish%. CPU is pegged at 80+ on all cores when this happens and is at times even when GPU util is also maxed. Very scene dependant. Don't get me wrong here. I'm not trying to create drama or paint a bad picture of the 5800X3D. It's still an awesome and capable CPU. It just seems like the minimums are starting ever so slightly to suffer a little. This is a fresh install of win 11, with drivers, discord, VLC, Heroic Laucher, Steam and a browser and nothing else. No 3rd party tools and windows is cleaned for bloat as much as possible.

yer if your pegged at 80% CPU usage id say you bottle necked or getting very close to been.
all i could put it down to in the game using more cores to account for the lower clock speed of the X3D's

do people get the same sort of usage with say a 7700x as it as the same core count?

what sort of CPU usage are you seeing?

always liked the 13500 is a bit of a hidden gem

Anyone else having an issue where their 9070 XT's VRAM is not being fully utilised by COD? I tried it for the first time yesterday and it was only 16-18% according to the ingame monitor though the FPS were very good, so not sure if it's a visual thing?

This is without overclocking etc. and also following a clean Windows install. Benchmarks are all in the right range too.

Mine reverted to low textures when I got my card.
Perhaps that is worth a check?

Also, who here has a hellhound 9070xt, and what are your hotspot temps?

Ok, My new GPU arrived. It's an Asrock Steel Legend.

Some pictures. Excuse the quality, I am not a good photographer!!

First the Box. I scratched it while opening.

Now after I installed it in my PC.

And finally, turned on.

As you can see it's a pretty tight squeeze. The dimensions on the websites are a little bit off. As I have 320mm of space there, that's according to my measurements and the Corsair website. The card is supposed to be 298mm but as you can see it almost fills the space!! It's bigger than the 6900XT that it's replacing, that's for sure.

Had no problems, apart from having to reinstall the AMD drivers after I put in the card. When it first booted up it was like it was running a really low resolution it was all out of focus and the mouse was stuttering around the screen like crazy. Thankfully a reinstall worked and it seems fine now.

Off to try it in VR now.
