This is great.
Ferrari, mclaren and verstappen all right there.

Starting to wonder if max is even better than we thought. Lawson (although new) was the worst rookie by far. But all all max's team mates have failed for a fair few years.

Maybe tsunoda is better where he is?

Hamilton is the anti alonso. Seems to make good team moves every time. Alonso.. Opposite!

Ferrari do have some pace then

Yeah, much better than in Aus. Although I'm pretty sure the McLaren's were actually faster, but neither driver really nailed it in Q3 whereas Lewis delivered a superb lap.

Didn't see Lewis beating Leclerc in a qualy this quickly either.

Yeah, likewise, and it was all the way through too. Lewis just seemed faster today. Great for him.

Maybe Russell really is extremely good (at least over one lap).

I think Russell is rather underrated at the moment. I put him and Leclerc about level, although Leclerc has been a little quicker at cleaning up his act and cutting out the mistakes Russell is getting there.

Leclerc and Stroll have been summoned to the stewards for failing to keep to minimum lap times. I expect they'll get let off; they always do.

They did, indeed, get let off.

But, in more scandalous technical action, Williams have been summoned to the Stewards for failing to deliver the footage from the front and rear wing cameras to the stewards within the one hour deadline. I expect they'll get fined, but since these are there for enforcement purposes perhaps they'll see it as a more serious infringement.

Lewis's onboard pole lap was a good watch. You can tell he has high confidence in the car which is great to see. Hopefully it carries through for the rest of the weekend! Be nice to see him up there again battling for the top spot!

Epic watch...

Just really shows a super balance car, no twitching, no bouncing etc.

Really amazing how fast they plant the throttle on exit and car just grips and grips and grips.... Stonking lap to watch

It's weird isn't it. It does seem strange that Max can consistently put it on or near the front row whilst his two recent teammates often struggle to get out of q1!

It does make you start to think whether Max is leaps above everyone else.....

But then on the flip side I refuse to believe the Red Bull is slower than the racing bulls and one of the slowest cars on the grid. That just isn't that feasible considering their history and pedigree etc.

Its worth mentioning too that Lewis has a great record on this track, Leclerc has never looked great in the Chinese races, he's never qualified higher than 4th or finished higher than 4th

I think it's just a really hard car to master, I remember this quote from Albon when he was driving it and I guess it hasn't changed much

It's eye-wateringly sharp,” said Albon. “To give people an explanation of what that might feel like, I don't know if you guys play computer games at all, but if you bump up the sensitivity completely to the max, and you move that mouse, and it's just darting across the screen everywhere, that's how it feels.

Was tidying up a mess of old accounts and found this. 13 years ago now, I do miss that sound. Great seat at the end of that straight

Great trip, took the sleeper train up from Hong Kong, Sunday night got wrecked in this weird mostly empty hotel near the circuit (it's properly in the middle of an industrial wasteland) and took over the drumkit on stage. I can't play drums.

Singapore is a much more fun race to go to though.

Just like ghosts. That video doesn't exist anymore! :D

It's from the official F1 channel, I don't think they allow media to play when embedded into another website so you have to click through to YouTube to watch it.

Look pure cope I know but a Max v Lewis season again would be peak F1.
Nobody wants to see two McLaren drivers driving into the distance bickering over who should let who past.
Other than the botched ending 2021 was the best season in recent times. Two drivers giving it 200% in very closely performing cars. They both drove the wheels off that year. Sometimes literally.. lol! :D
