@Sc00p007 Just seen the Heatkiller got delayed by another month! Considering just getting the Alphacool block that is available now. Really fancied the Heatkiller though. Not sure I want to wait another month.
Well that not good. I just received a DHL message to say to expect a delivery from watercool but I have a radiator on order so it must be for that.
I'll see how I feel, but I might just throw the loop together for cpu only, and run the 5090 until the Heatkiller arrives.

Edit, both orders say not yet shipped although 1 definitely has.

Palit 5090 in stock but the card is a little bit too expensive and ugly for me to bite. Hopefully not too long until there’s more of the Zotac non OC cards or some other reasonable priced ones in stock.

Edit: Stock didn’t last nearly as long as the Zotac drop last week.

Yeah, was 2.5k when I bought it a few weeks ago from OCs (returned), so better. Needs to £150 cheaper, but now heatkiller WB delayed till end April at least, which would be the only decent option for this card, other than FE, imo.

I haven't had the change to put my MSI 5080 Shadow (basically a plastic Ventus 3X) through it's paces but I have been concerned about buying the wrong model. I keep having thoughts between whether it's good enough, will perform well enough, cool well enough, etc. I was pretty adamant with myself that I wasn't going to spend more than £1000, which limited me to the FE or base models. I'm coming from a 3080 FE, which sounded like a jet when it was at 80C with the fans at 100%. This MSI 5080 is significantly quieter with the fans at 100%. Despite not being able to increase the power limit higher than 100%, I am going to increase the clocks (+400 on the core and +1000 on the memory will be my first try) and also reduce the power draw by about 8-10% (this appears to keep the card at the same OC clocks while drawing 30W less).

Undervolting will cool its jets for same or better than stock performance. Plenty guides around and some chat of the 'tech' forums here...

I have the Palit 5090 waiting on a water block. Do you think the Alphacool option would be any good compared to the Heatkiller then?
