*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

The OLED Switch is £309 vs the launch Switch at £280. Thats a 10% bump for an upgrade over the 8 years.

Electronics haven't increased in price by 40%. The iPhone hasn't increased in price by 40%. The PS5 was £449 at launch or cheaper if you wanted to digital.

Nintendo are just pricing it high because they know they will sell like hotcakes regardless. They are going to be making bank on the hardware as well as the games.

Price seems fair to me. Remember you don't have to buy it :)

Like the prioritisation stuff particularly as a Nintendo Online subscriber. May reduce scalpers a tiny bit. That said I have a tendancy to turn marketing emails off so might be in trouble on that one. Also not the highest play count as I spend more time on PC and PS5.

You would think how some defend it they have stocks in the company, and we can be sure the price will drop over time anyway so how would that be possible?

Yeah that’s a **** take on game prices and doesn’t make sense

Mario Kart with a consol is £429

Without is £395 that’s not £75 difference! Makes the no game bundle even more pointless
With only 256Gb internal storage on the console, physical cartidges will be in high demand I reckon. And Nintendo knows that, hence the high prices.

The game cost increase will be interesting to see how the market responds tbh

I rarely buy them when at £60 on PS5 I mostly wait until they drop to around £40

These consoles are aimed at kids. Parents won't be handing over a console with no games come Christmas time. They will sell for sure

I might hold my nose and shell out the £75 for Mario Kart cos you'll get the value out of it and 1st party Nintendo stuff never goes down but sure as hell wouldn't be buying others at that price!

I was planning to pick up one of these on release but at those prices... No thanks.

£75 for a game, no bloody chance. I almost never pay full price for game and I'm not going to start doing it at £75. I was hoping the console itself would be around £299 as it appears to not be a huge upgrade over the switch 2?

I doubt I'll get a chance to pre-order based on the requirements.
Should be plenty scope to place a pre-order elsewhere eg. Amazon, Smyths, Very etc. I think I should be ok for an invite ; have used my Switch a fair amount this last couple of years, have an Online membership and have even done a few surveys, the last of which was only a few days ago. If I don't get an invite despite all of that then I'll proclaim I hate Nintendo and wear a Sony Pony t-shirt ;)

Nintendo consoles aren’t just bought buy kids

Regardless parents can’t all afford to be splurging £75 a game multiple times or even on a few games at launch for their kids etc

I'll keep my eyes on Amazon.

Cant get a 5080 or 5090 for a reasonable price ... hopefully can get a Switch 2 surely ;)

To be honest the kids play with the Switch more than I do to be honest, but it is something shiny for me

The system price with Mario Kart is pretty reasonable especially after the spit take of the PS5 Pro price reveal :P
I'll definitely be trying to get a preorder in for it, It reads like I meet all of the invite criteria so fingers crossed I get one.
