*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

Nintendo make a console that apparently does 4k60fps , has a 120hz hand held mode and people complain it’s a similar price to the consoles it competes with

I think it’s decent value. Games should have been the same as PlayStation imo but as I use switches for Nintendo first party only, it won’t add too much over the lifespan of the console to be fair

You can ask for invite on Amazon now too but the gameless version. Not sure why people are concerned about ordering it directly.

I wouldn't mind the console price going up if you were not be squeezed for everything else by the console manufacturers as well.

Not just Nintendo, but want to play online, pay up. Want cloud saves, pay up. Even worse with cloud saves as it wasn't just pay for cloud saves, but at the same time make backing up locally either impossible or annoying to twist your arm. Controllers expensive because of licensing.

Just squeeze squeeze squeeze on everything.

Tbf it said depending on game , could be very low quality to achieve or some low demanding 2d game

4K60fps is meaningless on its own, if it can only do that on graphically basic games like Smash Bros, then it's hardly indicative of it being particularly powerful

I think the Amazon link was only live since 8:30pm so a good chance of getting an invite from that if they have enough stock.

Thanks.

Going to try my luck with Amazon. Just paid for a front door so was hoping for a pay on despatch.

Not wanting to stick this on credit.

You don't have to get it on credit at Very you can pay normally. But think they charge £3.99 delivery so Amazon better.

Wonder if it'll be like the Animal Crossing and Mario Kart "extras" on the OG Switch where you only get the upgrades whilst you have an active subscription ? Sub runs out and you lose access again.

Yes that's basically in the terms and conditions.
It's not just a handheld though, is it? Everyone I know who has one thinks of it as a TV console that has the bonus that you can take it with you, no idea how common that view is.

People still buy physical games? I dunno, game prices can't keep stalling for ever. Inflation alone is a 30% hike since 2017.

Exactly, it's not just a handheld. And we're still paying less for games now than a SNES game was (adjusted for inflation).
Next issue : I'm reading online that with some games the physical cartridges will contain a digital key only ... not actual game files. For example, apparently the Bravely Default HD remaster, which is only 11Gb in size therefore small enough to fit on a cartridge, will be a digital key. That blows.
Yeah read that too, so were plenty Switch 1 games

No I meant I’m skint right now thanks to a 1.5k bill. Very want the money up front.

I’ll have plenty again by June lol

Oh I see lol, didn't know that. Think I want pro controller too, the last one was so comfy and battery was great.

You can backup locally with PlayStation, and Xbox has free cloud saves.
