You can backup locally with PlayStation, and Xbox has free cloud saves.
I am massively invested in the OG Switch digitally so what the hell I am in. I’ll pre-order it next week. Mario Kart and Donkey Kong, yeah that’ll do me to start. I’ll chuck in the Pro controller as well.
As you said, you have to do the system backup route. I guess to not backup saves you don't want, you'd have to manually delete the unwanted saves from the console before starting the backup process.Did they change it on Playstation, last I checked on PS5 it was in the "annoying to try to twist your arm" category. Instead of just being able to move them to usb like you can with ps4 stuff, you have to do a system backup and select only saves. All or nothing, can't restore/backup only certain saves.
Oh yeah Metroid I am all over that as well!+1 Mario Kart / Metroid Prime plus updated versions of Mario party Jamboree and Zelda TOTK has me sold. Will grab it at launch with a pro controller!
Third party support is also looking really solid which is never a given for recent Nintendo systems.
Love that they’re adding upscaled GameCube titles to the virtual console as well.
It's making the PS5 Pro look reasonableJust been on the website and didn’t realise how fierce the pricing of the games/accessories is looking!
Mario kart £75
Donkey Kong £67
Pro controller £75
Camera £50

I'm confused too. I now know of several friends who received emails for a pre-order invite from Nintendo ... all at 6pm this evening. Most of them have less hours played than me, have participated in fewer surveys etc. All of us have had an online subscription for just over 5 years. Yet I'm the only one who hasn't received an invite yet. Go figure. So what's the deal with pre orders ? I am a little confused with online membership, which I have had a family subscription for 6 years...
Planning to go all digital with the Switch 2 ?I've got my pre orders in, went switch the Mario world bundle plus pro controller plus sandisk 256gb expansion card, all set for delivery on 5 June
Does it really? Looks like it's running of Mario Odyssey engine. Just smashing at every opportunity. Doesn't scream amazing or anything. That new Donkey Kong looks unbelievable!
Not here it won't, but in the US it could go up 20% or more.Tariffs already gonna bump that Switch2 to 500 bucks betcha
For console, grabbing a PS5 might be a better pick for him then. Yes, there are still a lot of mature/adult themed games, but when you include the PS4 library and the fact that most, if not all, future Xbox games will be coming to the platform too, then that's a large selection to choose from. More importantly, with Playstation ( and Xbox ) waiting 6 months or more can see big discounts on games. That never happens with Nintendo 1st party games. For example, take Hogwarts Legacy - great game for kids or teenagers, will probably cost £70-80 on Switch 2, but you can grab it for less than £20 on sale at the Playstation store ( or even cheaper on PC / Steam Deck ).Games look fun.
That's one problem I have with the series x Microsoft have lost the plot with what they are doing, all new releases are decidedly dire, my boy is fed up with a lack of game releases that he can play (he's 8, most games seem to be 16+, I will let him play some of these like halo but I decide on a game by game basis)
So based on the above looks like he be getting a switch 2 for Xmas. But price of games are ... Wow.
That's only + point with Xbox at the moment is the game pass though running out of games
IMO it does yeah. It looks like it’s made from the same people that made odyssey, but that can only be a good thing as that’s the one of the best games on the switch.Does it really? Looks like it's running of Mario Odyssey engine. Just smashing at every opportunity. Doesn't scream amazing or anything.
