*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

I really wanted one until I found out Mario Kart was the only Nintendo launch title. I loved Mario Kart, especially on the n64, but I'm just over the game. You can only do so much it's still a racing game at the end of the day. Wish it launched with the DK title.

Submitted requests for invites from Amazon just now. Probably too late to be included in any initial batches/groups but it's not like I'm hurting for games to play from now until whenever stock becomes freely available for the NS2.

I am going to wait and grab a used one with all the games worth playing at some point. Play the games and sell on. Cost likely £50 if that :D

In no rush this time. Not hyped at all.

Agreed the pricing derailed any hype for me. £70+ games is crazy. Plus pay to play online. I'm a bit torn as it would be sensible wait and grab a used one at some point, maybe trade for one. However I do like new and shiny :D. Too many games to play anyway, isn't GTA V coming out this year? First world problems I guess..

So is it because it's Nintendo now charging £70+ for a game that has upset people?

The perception that the Switch was deemed the "kids console" and has now gone through a mega evolution with the Switch 2 and pricing to match is a little difficult to accept?

It’s steep but Switch 2 is an indie console as well and this opens space for those studios who can come in at a lower price but can also survive what has been a very pressured industry recently. It’s probably an attractive platform for studios big and small now.

They should have stuck with OLED...

Mario Kart World looks good - it will be interesting to play that roaming mode!

But not sure that is quite enough to tempt a console purchase. Also the upgrades to BOTW and TOTK should be free for anyone who owns those on the Switch.

OLED model coming later for extra $50-100
