Community Fibre

I don't have the Technicolor so can't say.

But you'll probably need to use something like WiFi Analyzer (or it's equivalent contemporaries) and see what channels are heavy in use and then manually pick one that's less in use that way anyway. Anything that's auatomatic switching often will just keep switching if the local WiFi airwaves is busy with traffic and others don't manage their networks well/properly.

What is the router included with the CF 1G service?
My broadband service is coming to an end in a couple months and I might go with CF this time, a lot cheaper compared to Openreach FTTP provider.

Assuming it hasn't changed, it'll be this Linksys model: https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.p...y-fibre-prep-new-wifi-6-broadband-router.html

I still have the older MX4200 based one so not sure how the current one compares to that.

Just a heads up; the 3gbps connection is discounted to £39 a month right now. Temporary only from their Flash Sale banner there for the service. So if you're after a connection from CF or want more than 1gb or the static IP (do they still do that only for 3gbps connection?), then you can grab it now for cheaper.

Is there a way to scan the WIFI channel on the Technicolor router to find the best WiFi channel to use?
This reply might be too late but you can scan the wifi channels 2.G/5G using a mobile app like WifiAnalyzer on Android to see how many APs are on a certain channel or on the whole channels and other useful stuff.

Anyone having issues with their connection this evening? I've got fluctuating speeds from 30-200mb and just seems like it is heavily dropping throughout, on multiple DNS.

Looks like the 3gbps is being phased out. 2.5 is replacing it (and likely why there was the new router with 2.5 ports lately). Whilst the 3gbps package is being upped to 5gbps.

Certainly very tempting, especially since it looks like most of the prices aren't moving much with these changes. And I could even use any of the upgraded speeds (full 10g internal network in place). Alas, contract was renewed in Oct, so will wait another 18 odd months before I see what we have to go to. :)

i had a right rigmarole with Community Fibre messing me about and wasting my time with failed installs and general poor communication. I had a right whinge at them for wasting my time repeatedly and they gave me a years connection free. I feel like they did right by me and im happy to now be paying for a service that has people working for them that actually know how to look after a customer, a rarity these days.

What are the prices for the 2.5?

Odd, on my page, there's a "Recommended, Standard and Premium" package option to select from too. The 2.5 is found in the Standard section.

That pricing makes sense. Makes 2.5GB tempting. Not sure why for me though. Everything i download is done super quick.

Maybe just to wind up @mrk as he likes to say how quick he downloaded on his 1gb line. I can only match him now, but if i upgrade I can tell him how slow his connection is
