Maybe not in terms of sales, but I can see Nintendo doing it. They are not a "nice" company. They are as brutal and hard-edged a corporate as ever there was and if anybody's going to send a visible "up yours" to Tangerine Truss, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Nintendo. They are absolutely not going to sell hardware at break-even or a loss - it's just not their business model. There's no way that'll fly.
Also, rumour has it Nintendo are preparing a new interactive Welcome Tutorial for the US market : Professor Layton and the Trump Tariff Mystery, priced $46.Maybe not in terms of sales, but I can see Nintendo doing it. Also, if the tariff applied is Vietnam's, you're talking more $650 than $600.
They aren’t going to sell it at a loss either. I think they hope things will be resolved soon otherwise the price is going to have to increase. There's no way that'll fly.
It won’t. Different world to when the 3DS launched.Didn't the 3DS pricing at launch flop and Nintendo had to flash the prices? Hope this happens with Switch 2 to an extent.
The US price everything like that anyway. They usually leave the tax off just to confuse the consumer more. Makes sense to do this. It’s a tax they are paying to the government. Nintendo aren’t going to pay it for them.Hopefully if they do have to 'increase the price', they put out a very explicit press release showing it's $449+$200 tariff, so the hard of thinking get minimal opportunity to spin it as Nintendo price gouging rather than simply the intended effect of applying stupid tariffs all over the place.
Wow. They aren’t going to sell many consoles in the US. Elsewhere they will get more stock I expect.Bahahahahha
Switch 2 pre orders in the US have to be redone because the price is too low, they're talking potentially about increasing the MSRP by 50%

Mostly these companies are just setting placeholders. You can’t properly pre-order until next week 08/04 according to Nintendo themselves. Is this all sold out I guess?
Yes and no. Pre-orders have been popping up throughout yesterday and today. You need to be reasonably fast to get one, but you've got minutes, not seconds, to click through and order. This isn't a 5090 situation. I got a pre-order in with Argos yesterday and have had a text confirming it'll be launch day delivery. Is this all sold out I guess?
Very were getting small but frequent stock drops through most of today. I'd keep an eye on them, in particular.Good to know. Just need to keep my eye on this somehow.
