Path of Exile 2

Not played since January or followed updates - I'm guessing there's been some big changes? Any indication when it's out of beta

Wont be out of early access for a long time yet, still got 3 acts to add for example. PoE1 was in beta for 2 years so this will likely be around the same length

Pleasantly surprised with the scope of the new update, I think full release will come later than anticipated, backend of 2026 is my bet as well.

A few decent sized updates like this will be good going though I think, release a new class every few months with a raft of endgame content and by the time release comes it will feel in a good place.

Javazon was my go to build back in the D2 days so I'll always have a soft spot for that kind of thing, excited to finally try out the spectres too, the minion classes felt a little lacking without them at EA launch.

I havent played in months, im wondering if theres any point rerolling when this update arrives or just stick with one of my current characters.

I did a few hours last night. A miserable experience on huntress. Will see if I go back to it today or decide to go to b&q for some diy action instead (and I hate diy)

I have watched a few youtube videos on the new season and there seems to be a lot of people complaining about the lack of damage done

Minions are pretty rubbish so far, absolutely no damage at all. The unholy night ascendancy on lich will help, but I can't see myself being able to clear the trial at the moment.

Drop rates feel off again, it seems like original ea launch where there just weren't enough orbs/exalts dropping.

Performance is shocking as well, they've broken DX12, it's a stuttery mess with loads of shader comp going on and frame spikes. Some people were saying that the game is actually running in DX11 for them. FSR is greyed out and only usable in Vulkan, which is just crashing people with AMD cards.

That good, huh ? I watched a Twitch stream to get the drop ... and I have to admit the huntress class looked slow and dull.

played for about 1 hour last night with the huntress before uninstalling. The game is even worse state than 0.1 release. Tbh I've no idea who this game is made for, it's not the general arpg market

I think it might have been made for me, I've already notched up 400 hours in Poe2 since it came out, which is only 134 hours less than I played Poe1 over the entirety of the 12 years that I've had it

I ended up changing a few things out this morning and it’s much smoother. Shame as I really wanted to use the parry mechanic more

I’m agreeing with your statement on ‘who is this game for’. I loved PoE1, popped on for every league launch, was excited for new economies, getting currency etc, even a chaos drop when you start was nice and cool feeling. I have had many hours trying out builds that have no right working, are fun, are awful etc, but PoE2… well, I can go for weeks without even thinking about it, which for one of my favourite games/devs until recently, says a lot.

It’s such a slog of a game irrespective of being in early access. I didn’t get the final four ascendancies points, nor did I get to tier 16 maps. People complained about levelling through the campaign for PoE1, by comparison there’s only 3 acts for PoE2 and it’s so dull and drawn out. The gem interface is poor, the crafting is poor, the seemingly forced need to make characters play as combo builds. The spread of skills and levels to use them is too broad for experimentation due to said campaign. I could go on and on.
