Does something need to be done about dogs?

On the bbc news this morning an article about dog owners dumping their dogs poo bags anywhere they like.

Something needs to be done about some dog owners as well, lazy half job *******.

Never understood some people’s brain dead mindset to bag the **** up and leave it on the ground.

As a dog owner I go out my way to find a bin or take it home and bin it.

I do the same as you and just carry it until I've found a bin.

No, sis, that's not what I'm saying...

What are you saying then bruv? You clearly have a problem with the other poster saying something needs to be done about the dog owners who leave their dog's **** lying around, so either:
  • You're one of those people
  • You think it's OK
  • You're deliberately trolling for a reaction
So which is it fam? Innit!

What are you saying then bruv?
That you're barking up the wrong lamp post, that the complaint is futile, and that there are worse things in the world to be worried about.

No, I have a problem with any "Something needs to be done" scenario, because we all know nothing ever gets done about it, hence the 'tale as old as time'.

So which is it fam? Innit!
None of the above, but that's what you get for assuming...

"Oh no, thing X is really bad, so let's ignore thing Y which is also bad, but not as bad, but at least that gives us a convenient excuse not to do anything about thing Y"

Yes, precisely because of attitudes like yours. Something MIGHT be done if people acknowledge it's a problem, nothing will definitely be done if not.

None of the above, but that's what you get for assuming...

So option C then. To be honest that should have been very evident from the rest of your posts in the thread, so shame on me for taking the bait :(

I think someone just gets a kick out of being the argumentative type and playing devil's advocate on anything and everything.

Probably some pent-up frustration, as anyone who communicates with people like this in the 'real world' is pretty much shunned from every group.

I have a family member who has a sausage dog (dachshund)

Its such a yappy dog and its scared of everything

You only need to look in its direction and it will hide and bark at you

And that's actually why nothing ever gets done...

It's been a widely acknowledged problem around the world long before I was born, and still nothing has been done about it...

Firstly, I wasn't even talking to you, so even if it had been a trap it's your fault for falling into it.
Secondly, you're again assuming.
Thirdly, you're now having a crack at me instead of discussing the issue raised - Tell me again how it's my attitude at fault....?

I know a dachshund owner who had one that savaged her granddaughter (about 2 or 3 years old), nearly took the kids nose off!

I thought dachunds are one of the most aggressive and nasty breeds out there. Like most things dog though, they are little yappy runts that don't pose that much risk to people vs bigger dogs so their behaviour is ignored mostly.

I think the moral is don't leave your kids unattended with an animal that can hurt them. A dachshund doesn't pose a risk to anyone able to boot it across the room, but a toddler can't

Yeah, its the size of a dog vs the size of a human. There comes a point where the size and strength of a dog makes the size of human largely irrelevant but toddlers are very at risk and at a vary dangerous height. Not to mention they are very prone to not being gentle with animals.
