Show us your kitty cats

We are finally in a position as a family to share our space with a pair of cats. We were thinking of kittens ideally but we are looking to rehome and have joined the waiting lists. Is there a reputable place or website where people market. Cats or kittens?
We can't wait to meet our new owners

Entirely depends what you want. Indoor, outdoor, pedigree.

I always go to Cats Protection.

If they are your first then I would say two kittens and from the same litter. Being kittens they have no past history and same litter kittens tend to grow up more tolerant of each other.

Pick two that are friendly and approach you, that don't have any bad habits. Cats can pick up habits like climbing curtains at an early age and it's difficult to get them to change. It's absolutely no good telling them off, they just end up climbing the curtains AND hating you.

If the mother is around, just check out the temperament of the mother. Kittens often seem to be like mum.

Doesn't drink milk - but will have it as a lolly

It might be a bit too far for you, but I got mine from Margaret Green Animal Rescue, their main cattery is near Corfe Castle.

Otherwise Cats Protection as has been said, my mum got her most recent one from them.

There is also an RSPCA near Ashely Heath right on the border of Hampshire and Dorset, although might be another branch closer to you.

My calico Maggie. Rehomed her from a rescue centre just before Christmas. She'd already had 2 homes before being taken to the centre and was only 18 months old. She's the sweetest thing and not been any trouble, I don't get how some animals end up in rescue centres.

Lovely cat, I thought it was our Crunchie for a second.

My kittens haven't been out much but in the last week they have already made friends with a few other cats. I'm surprised because our old cat kept our garden 'Other Cat' free and she wouldn't let any other cats in the garden :D bless her.
They were all playing nicely and no hissing or fistycuffs lol

Just a heads up, damn ticks are active again and it's early this year. I got a couple off Ozzy's coat at the beginning of the week and got a pair of big ones off him with help from O'Tom tick twisters this morning. Looks like I am going to have to change spot on's again. Last year was bad enough but with them starting earlier this year could be even worse and they seem to be becoming immune to a lot of spot ons. I hate the filthy things.

Not a nice post, but lost my Maple Monday, Got home friday and noticed she had a very "angry" meow when i spoke to her and she spoke back, obviously trying to tell me something was wrong, noticed she was not eating Saturday, Had to take her to emergency vet sunday. Had bloodwork done early monday morning and got the worst news ever, Kidney failure with blood work results off the charts. Told me they could put her on a drip for 48 hours but they had never seen a cat recover from such kidney values, so i made the choice to let her go. Got to see her at 2pm and spend last few minutes talking to her and saying all her favorite words and telling her how good of a cat she had been.

She was my first ever pet, and has helped me through a lot of stuff, namely the breakup between me and my ex of 8 years. I think i would not be here today if it was not for Maple. Strange thing is, i contacted me ex 2 weeks ago, and she came over last weekend to see me and the cats, she had not seen them for around 5 years. Week after Maple was dead, I am so glad they got to see each other one last time.

I have lost such an important part of my life, i loved her with all my heart and i will never forget our time together, She was just 13 and i thought we were going to have much more time to come.
