Hey,
So on release day I was lucky enough to pick up a Gigabyte Aorus RX 9070 XT Elite from a well known online retailer for £760, I was coming from an RTX 4070 Ti Super. I've found the AMD way of doing things a little involved/different, I've always had Nvidia. My main gaming is BO6 using a 32" MSI 240hz curved monitor, cpu is a 9800X3D in an Asus X870 TUF mobo. I do understand that AMD have a bit of an advantage with BO6 however..
The 9070 appears to be quite a good card achieving 7239 in Steel Nomad and 31808 and 24603 in Time Spy stock. I've tried a little overclocking with the best so far of 33329 and 25231 in Time Spy and 7718 in Steel Nomad.
Believing that a 5070 Ti would give similar performance to the 9070 (having the option to return the 9070 up until 11th April), I purchased a Zotac RTX5070 Ti Solid ZT-B50710D3-10P from OCUK on Friday last. I now live in Ireland so having it arrive yesterday morning was amazing service by OCUK.
So excitedly I fitted the 5070 Ti, DDU'd the system, installed the latest game ready driver and that's when the excitement turned to disappointment. Stock it made 27739 and 22371 in TS and 6544 in SN. There's no scope to increase the power limit with this card although I did try +2000mhz mem and +300 mhz core and it produced 28706 and 22885 in TS. This crashed in BO6, unstable. At stock the 5070 Ti is ~50 fps using DLSS and frame gen below the 9070 using FSR4 at 1440p Ultra setting.
I've requested to return the 5070 Ti to OCUK which they've kindly accepted.
My question is whether the results I've listed above, are disappointing for the 5070 Ti or above average for the 9070 XT? Was I being stupid expecting any (I know this is an MSRP model) 5070 Ti to be far closer to a factory OC'd 9070 XT?
Thanks for any (constructive!) observations!
Peter.
