The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

Anyone else see discrepancies between the Adrenaline Stress Test and other benchmarking tools? In adrenaline my core hits a consistent 3300Mhz but using say 3DMark it hits between 2600mhz and 2900Mhz on the core

That’s to do with load on the card, different tests put different loads on different parts of the card which results in varying frequencies.

Same for games - some games I get 3 GHz others 2.6

I got my 9070 from a high street retailor whose name is similar to an Indian dish. I doubt they would have the expertise to find out what I did if I did try this and it messed up and I returned my card as having developed a fault.
I'd be much more confident if you could do it with software rather than hardware. Someone will probably make it possible with software at some point.

What's the consensus for swapping between different 9070XT?
I've got a pulse fitted just now but got a Nitro+ arriving tomorrow. I see you can set factory defaults but part of me thinks play it safe, DDU and start afresh.

I have a 9070XT Pulse. Great card for sub msrp price I got from elsewhere after a discount.

Vram temps on load max 75c with fans on a curve.

Boosts to 3.2ghz core after an UV of -95mv with PL at 10% and vram fast timings at 2746mhz.

Getting Steel Nomad of 7445 and 74.5fps and Timespy extreme Graphics score of 97.7fps. The Nitro gets 103 according to TPU so 5fps in it- both fan shrouds are plastic not metal- Nitro looks better and your paying 10% more (£619 vs £684 if it’s from the same elsewhere I got my pulse from) for 5% more performance.

It’s really evens what is better- I’d go for whichever you think looks better and you’re happy with in your case.

Mine boosting to 3443mhz

Stock is 3010?

I’m yanking your chain hoss - enjoy your gpu!

That’s ok mate took it as it was intended in humour :) The card I had for a day was too expensive for a bit of extra RGB at £668 coming from a 7800XT and the loss I would have had to take on the old card- the new Pulse was well below msrp and made the upgrade worthwhile. I’m happy for about 3-4 years now.

Just installing my nitro plus after being in bed with the flu! Ive got a couple of questions.

That bit of black foam where the wires connect - does that want to come out? It's cut and stuck very nicely and securely for something that wants taking off...

The nitro needs 3x8 pin pcie cables...as it's only 340 watts would one 8pin (from PSU) to 8pin (card) and one 8pin (PSU) to 2x 8pin (card) do the job or should I have 3 separate cables?

Thanks

Don’t take the foam out, it’s protection for the cable rubbing against the fin stack.

Wouldn’t normally recommend daisy chaining as apparently the Nitro can spike above 400w.

I got the Nitro+ because if i got the pulse and it OCed badly i'd give myself a hard time for not spending the extra

I can't seem to get my pulse to drop below -45mV. I was getting white screens on warzone at 2670mhz fast timings so thought I would leave the nitro+ to be delivered whilst I tinker.

For £60 difference over the 4 years I'll keep it, the difference is nothing. Looks like they hiked the price up to £764 now too

Good decision. Always go with your heart. It’s going to have to be in your PC a long time.

I'll see what like when I receive it tomorrow. I might hate it and it goes back  .
The pulse is a great card though. In my head though I was paying over release price for a pulse and under for the Nitro+. Gibbo also stated he could see the Nitro+ fluctuating between £650 and £750 through its life span.
