*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

That does seem to make the most sense. I bet there will be tons of copies of DK available since it’s a launch game.

Yep. Mario Kart World won't be floating about so much because a lot of the versions will be the bundled one and MK tends to have a load of longevity whereas a game like DK will be completed and sold. Fundamentally you can look at games that way.

Buy it for £60, sell it for probably £45-50. Nintendo first party games always hold their value well.

This is why the MK bundle is good value compared to the base console. Only £35 for MK World seems like a no brainer, as it’s one of those games you can pick up any time and play.

Most of my current Switch games are on cards as I have 2 kids (2 switches) who share them. I’ve always opted for physical media with Xbox, PlayStation as I generally play them, complete them, then sell them on. I don’t play online much. If you sell them within 2 weeks, you can generally get 80% of the cost back. Lose £10 for your 2 weeks ‘rental’.

Suppose it depends on how often you replay a game. I must admit, I rarely do it these days. Back in the Playstation 1 days etc, I did it a lot. So the idea of playing and selling the game on makes a lot of sense, but it's a bit disappointing and really makes me realize just how disposable everything is these days. Consume, dispose, buy new thing.

Gonna have to source one from the grey market over here..........

I could try to get one from home in the UK, but getting it to me in India would be a pain in the backside.

A lot of retailer scalpers will try their luck in June and I will have to go via this source.

It's the same as I did recently with the Steam Deck OLED, PS5 pro and my 5090.

India sucks for this.

Yep.

Isn't it cheaper when in stock?
Nintendo don't have any official presence in India, so main stream retailers don't sell them.

The original switch still cant be purchased here.

Independent importers is the only.way to go.

Placed a pre order with Nintendo, but just cancelled. I think I'd rather add a Windows handheld to my existing OLED Switch and Steam Deck - I never play docked, so just makes more sense for me.

I look forward to seeing how everyone gets on with these when they release

Do you have to register interest somewhere on the official Nintendo site to get an invite?
With all of the pre-order places where can you pre-order (when in stock) where they don't take the money straight away?

Not sure about the nintendo website, but the paying part you can use paypal credit on a lot of sites, and if you have a very account they're accepting BNPL for 12 months

Same here, i've finally received an invite! Strangely though I definitely hit all of the initial invite criteria but never had an invite :(
Still haven’t received an invite from Nintendo despite meeting all the criteria and having several thousand hours playtime. Never mind … have a preorder in elsewhere but doesn’t feel like Nintendo respect my patronage.

You can’t register interest … it’s invitation only ( with some qualifying criteria).

i think when a company charges £75 for mostly rinse and repeat games it's clear that they don't respect anyone.

They charge what they want and people lap it up, they're the Apple of the gaming world :D
