The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

well this has to be the weirdest thing il ever say ive done
i just did a full on goal celebration after discovering my tv is broken
normally this discovery would be unwelcome but needing a new telly is far less headache than returning a gpu
so thanks again everyone turns out my telly just randomly decided to choose now to die lol

How did you manage to figure it out in the end? Was the TV playing up when connected to another PC?

Yes, I love it. It's seen two full builds and 3 GPUs and going strong.
got a 5000x with my am4 build at home...011d evo here...have to say 5000x (so guessing all 5000series seing as yours loks just as well put together), best case I've ever used, and like you put 3 side fans in so 6 intake...literally get no dust in it and airflow/temps are excellent....didn't bother with rear fan..so much positive pressure you can feel the air flow out the back anyway...thinking about getting another to replace the 011d...don't like the width and I get dust...prices of the case went stupid after i bought though..puts me off

even my i5-10400f works fine in bo6

but time is ticking on it
My OC'd 10900k with 4400 DDR4 ram bottlenecked an RTX 3090 in Cold War and activating DLSS had no effect. Upgrading to a 13700k with 7400 DDR5 gave a big boost in a lot of CPU intensive games, especially the 99% lows. I've had the same CPU with my 7900 XTX and 9070 XT but both of those are faster than the 3090 so would be also bottlnecked by my 10900k.
Your 10400f will be a bottleneck in a lot of stuff on a 9070 XT, even if running 4k.

I sound like a bore I know, because I’ve said it many times now…but…FSR4 is simply amazing. It’s so amazing and detailed to the point that it’s virtually no inconvenience or drop down to use. And I say that as someone with a big ass 4K TV, 20/15 vision, and an extremely picky nature with tech/quality.

If you applied it at quality setting and a sharpness of 2-3 on TLOU 2 and didn’t tell me, I’d assume it was native.

It is really good. I've been using it on HZD Remastered and Forbidden West and I was shocked at how good it was. FSR 3.1 was just bad, I couldn't use it due to it's many flaws. Main reason I switched my XTX to the 9070 XT. I can now use upscaling like I did with my 3090 and not have my eyes bleed.

P.S. Also very picky and 6:5 in last year's eye test, defying my ageing eyes.

plugged my pc into the gf telly and it worked so tried my telly on her tv box thingy and yeah my telly is goosed it already had one not working hdmi so im guessing hte other one died as well all good i just need a new screen but we already knew this one was going to eventually need replacing turns out it needed replacing a lot sooner
different weird picture on her box but yeah still described as rather psychedelic

I probably wouldn't use any upscaling on a FPS game at all regardless. Are there any videos that show FSR4 working as it should in BO6?
FSR doesn’t cause input lag, so there’s not much reason not to use it IF you’re trying to reach your monitors max refresh.

But with a 9800X3D and 9070XT everything tuned/OC, I’m pulling close to 300fps 1440p native lowest settings on Warzone, so it’s over my refresh anyway lol. You’d need an insanely high refresh monitor to need to use FSR with the 9070XT and a good CPU.

It’s useful for 4K on BO6, but not for me personally as I don’t do competitive on my 65” OLED. Not due to input lag etc because it’s as fast as most monitors, but more so due to the size of the screen. You can’t really game competitively on a screen that size

1440p it just about stuggles along but does need upgrading its just a funds and time thing atm but soon losing a lot of frames but still playable

it really doesnt with FSR4 in BO6 I gain 50-80 fps on quality
Well I've already said FSR3 so I'm not sure the point of this comment...

Are you CPU bottlenecked? You shouldn't have lower performance with FSR 3 / 4 upscaling than Native unless you are CPU bottlenecked.
The benchmark says I'm 100% GPU bottlenecked. Which is why I thought FSR3 would help, but (from my ageing memory) it went from ~115 fps average to ~95fps average using Quality mode (I think, pretty sure it was rendering around 1440p-ish).

The problem is your end. Upscalers render games at a lower resolution, then scale them up to your set resolution to reduce the load on your GPU, which increases performance. That's why people turn it on.
Yeah, I know what they do and why people use them, in theory, but that's not what I'm seeing. I'll try to remember to take screenshots later.

which cpu ?

Have you tried a clean install of windows?

It's a pain in the ass but this fixed it for me. I had black screen issues just like yours, used DDU many times but the issues went after I wiped everything and started again.

Shouldn't have to do this but it worked for me.
If this keeps on happening I'll certainly try that.. Frustrating

Sounds like you’re talking about your RAM and graphics memory try interchangeably.

Or are you saying that your graphics memory doesn’t clock as high when you have XMP enabled on your system ram?

Generally they should be two completely separate systems operating independently of each other and not affecting each other.
yeah sorry was trying to do a couple of things and missed a chunk out,lol basically when i leave my ram xmp off, i can ramp up my vram to pretty high, but when i enable xmp for some strange reason i cant clock as high or enable fast timings in adrenaline, some wondered if there some quirk or correlation between the 2, never come across it before as should be separate, so a bit confused

I just received my Nitro+ XT not so long ago. Chucked it in and gave it a quick and dirty UV/OC. Nothing Drastic, -50 Max frequency offset, -65mV voltage offset, VRAM 2680Mhz fast timings PL +10%. How we looking?

very nice.
why -50 Frequency offset? Just wondering?

Legendary. You could go higher with the VRM for sure
To be honest, I was just playing about familiarising myself with it all. I think I tried the same settings as posted but it crashed so dropped the frequency a tad to see if it helped.
I'll get stuck in about it tomorrow when I've got some time and do some research on how to get the best out of this thing.
