What TV shows are you currently watching

Just finished up Snowpiercer Season 4 on ITV-X. It was okay though inevitably the focus was on New Eden and the nearby military silo than the previous seasons with the trials and tribulations of the train circling the planet. The ending was reasonably satisfactory given in all likelihood there are no more seasons planned though IMHO they made a mistake
killing off Mr Wilford. Think he should have survived and left as a loose end.

Now moved on to Season 3 of Wheel Of Time on Amazon Prime. Erm, yes. We know it is different from the books, which for the most part I really enjoyed. But
Elayne and Avienada in a same sex relationship? I mean, come on. Book canon is that they became near sisters in the Aiel tradition. Both went on to be Rand's lovers and Elayne ends up having his children. Not saying that can't still happen but FFS.

Next up the season opens with a huge battle between the different Ajahs in the White Tower whereas in the book
Siuan Sanche is deposed as Amyrlin after being surprised by the rebels loyal to Elaida. She is overpowered then "stilled" and imprisoned along with Leanne before later escaping. There is no mass slaughter. Liiandrin is not part of the overthrow attempt and Nynaeve, Egwene and Elayne had already been despatched in secret to track down the Black Ajah and were neither present or even aware until much later in the books, of what happened to Siuan.

Yeah Snowpiercer is done unfortunately, the fourth season is the last one and TNT had it sitting on a shelf for about 18 months until eventually AMC bought it last year.

I'm a few episodes in to Season 4 so I need to go back and finish it, I'd rewatched 1-3 first though and the change in look and 'feel' of season 4 was a bit jarring at first.

Working my way through Season2 of Silo at the moment, but eagerly awaiting Season 2 , of the last of us

What do you think of Silo S2?

We really enjoyed S1, but thought it ended perfectly, and think we will probably just leave it there rather than it just become another series that tries to outdo itself with bigger and grander ideas while at the same time losing its nuance and intrigue.

The Bondsman. Pretty good, doesn't hang around as the shows are just under 30mins each on theirs 8 episodes so none of them felt like filler episodes. Full on gore though lol.

This seems an odd approach given the story is already set out. It's not like they are making bigger and grander ideas as they go. All the same, if you're, that's what's important I guess. (For me, the second book was the best, which is what we're about to get into in S3)

Started watching House and probably 6 or 7 episode in, does it get any more varied? there is a distinct structure to the episodes and getting rather predictable with each episode, with 8 seasons on netflix and not sure i could finish one season let alone 8 if it continues like this as good as Hugh Laurie is!

It slowly branches out through the seasons but there is a lot of common structure to it. A lot of it is the characters/character development rather than story though.

Personally was hooked by the first episode, if it isn't doing it for you by 6-7 episodes in it probably won't be for you.

Thanks, i'll see how this season pans out and see how i get on with s2, its not like there is a lot to watch at the moment :D. tbf Ive enjoyed it so far but the predictability of each episode shortens its appeal as it goes on, and the other characters have yet to strike a mark. Im probably being far to critical of a tv series that came out over 20 years ago!

I haven't read the books, so no idea what is to come, hence asking about what the next series was like.

Not sure why it's an odd approach to ask the question.

But that's the thing. I said odd approach, not odd question. You asked what S2 was like, then said "We really enjoyed S1, but thought it ended perfectly, and think we will probably just leave it there rather than it just become another series that tries to outdo itself with bigger and grander ideas while at the same time losing its nuance and intrigue." which is the approach I referenced. I even explained in the post why it was odd, which I thought showed it wasn't about the question. I'm beginning to see why you might not want any more story and choose to leave it there. (As I think about it, given this, god knows how you'll interpret this post, so I'll declare now, go ahead and reply, I won't be responding)

On season 3 of Yellowstone now, get the impression the writers are making it up as they go along. I preferred S1/2.

The whole Jamie being adopted with a killer father seems a bit much

Not sure if I have mentioned.

I watched Servant on Apple Plus, 4 series! It was very character led. Great acting and atmosphere.
