BMW and M Power Owners

Anyone that has a 4 series , what brake discs are you generally going with?

The discs on the front are fine. Almost look new and look like originals on there , slight pad wear , rears look ok, slight bit of corrosion compared to the front . Do you need anything special for the efficiency dynamics?

Also to anyone really , usually I would ditch runflat tyres as on previous cars Iv owned they had been really rough on.thr road and noisy.however the 420d I have they don't sound too bad..hardly any noise really and it feels comfortable..

If and when they need replacing not sure if I should go non runflats or stick to runflats

what does your OBC say, if it's >3000 miles leave it alone
front pads are usually changed first, so the rear is likely going to be the ones from the factory
i went with non oem brembo pads when i changed my front
discs usually last 2x brake pad changes

non-runflats definitely, and the usual suspects (though you might not need the performance on a 20d lol)
usual suspects = mps4s/ps5, csc7, assy 6
(pz5 not yet available in bmw staggered sizes yet)

Ill have to look on the obc tomorrow re brakes. Yeh iv used the brembo discs and pads before

The performance on the 420d great on it, stick it in sport mode and its very responsive , quick enough for me :)

Cheers on tyres I'll take a look.

just get the cheapest of the usual suspects whenever it's time to change the difference between them are negligible for easy day-to-day driving
(would usually be the csc7 or the assy 6)

I do like buying good tyres. But it's abit of a Russian roulette with me. I have to traverse stretch of road which is bad with road metal fragments on the way to the office. Iv had some bad experiences with tyres

Ill have a look online when the time comes and as you said get the cheapest usual suspects that are good. I usually aim for mid range

if you get RFTs then the general understanding is that most places won't repair a puncture as they cannot guarantee the integrity of the sidewall if it's been driven on when punctured
but at least it allows you to get home in the event of a puncture

if you get non-RFTs you'd be stuck if you get a puncture, but you may be able to repair the puncture if it occurs in the middle of the tread
(don't use the cans of puncture sealant though, no one will touch a tyre after these cans have been used)
the handling and quietness of the non-RFTs are significantly better

both have pros and cons

not too sure about mid range tyres

the "usual suspects" are UHP/UUHP tyres and are priced accordingly
are you on 18 or 19 inch rims?

The ones on the back are 255/40 R18 so 18 ,

I have come from 17s on previous car . I thought the bigger the wheels the more noiser it gets but its quieter than my old car (which had non runflats) these have run flats

oh i thought you have the 19s

in which case then your choices are the ps5 (no ps4s), assy 6 and premium contact (rather than the sport contact, i'm not sure if there are csc7s in 18 inch guise)
18s are cheaper on the wallet too

What leather conditioner could I use to put some life back into the Dakota Black leather seats?

Edit: Typo fix, I swear the autocorrect is getting worse, not better... lol

Surely this can't be right? 19/10/2023 publish date would mean the car has been up for sale for 18 months?!

VIN: WBA5U92040FK25916

Going to look at it tomorrow, but the publish date, incorrect mileage on advert, only 1 key and mismatching tyres are all red flags to me.. Thoughts?
