OcUK GUIDE TO ORDERING YOUR AMD 9070 GRAPHICS CARD TODAY AT 14:00

Looks like the demand has started to slow down, I can see 9070 xt stocked everywhere and scalpers reduicing their price or not selling as frequently as they used to.

and the 5700 ti + non ti has been available for weeks.

This has been a much better launch than the 3000 cards.

Hopefully prices from normal retailer sites start to drop too! As long as stock keeps coming in, surely they will... surely...

won't happen, they increase/decrease manufacturing depending on retail demand. So price will remain the same.

No it will come down!
Proof of this with 5070 which OcUK has the lowest price in UK from £499 :)

As supply improves and the strong pound holds, the prices will reduce typically.
Though a couple of AIC's have increased their base USD cost, so it is never known how it will go but based on supply increasing prices should reduce just like 5070 has.

The only real spanner in works at moment could arise if memory pricing rockets as per NAND/SSD has done recently, though the memory portion of a GPU is typically a maximum of $50-100 of total board cost, so even if memory prices went up 20% I'd only expect to see a maximum of $20 USD cost increase on a 16G GPU at most for example.

Not sure if it's inappropriate to ask but why is it that we can't pre-order cards like the Reaper? It's actually quite exhausting checking in with the forum and the product page multiple times a day.

I'm assuming it's because the price isn't guaranteed and so, you wouldn't want to let people pre-order if the price can increase.

People wouldn't be paying hyper-inflated prices if they could just join a queue and pre-order....

Prices on OCUK has been stable for a while now. I would think the main reason is to avoid scalpers.

The only reason people are scalping is because unless you're browsing the internet 24/7 like they do it's impossible to get hold of a card. Why would anyone be paying £750 to a scalper on auction sites if they could just queue for much less? if people were able to queue there'd be fewer scalpers and more supply for everyone else.

Manufacturers don't care either way, whether it's a regular customer or scalper they sell a product at hyper inflated price and in case of the latter warranty is void once it's sold on so that's even better.

I have to say my mental health and sleep has now improved since I got my card last week- before that was constant checking stock notification sites and jumping to alerts which isn’t feasible when you are not supposed to use your phone at work.

If stock doesn’t improve for decent prices it might be another lost generation like RDNA2- couldn’t get a MBA off AMD direct at all in 2020/21 and encountered overpriced AIB cards elsewhere.

People are scalping because a lot of people lack patience and self control
If people refused to pay scalped prices everybody would be able to buy one at MSRP

My Pure is quiet, I don't hear it over my AIO. Pretty much a whisper

My pulse is also really quiet and I like the understated looks- it’s really nicely made and robust imo.

I’ve settled on getting 7445 (74fps) on steel nomad with my pulse for game stability. Sadly the 77fps 7800ish score was too unstable for me.

I find if the card boost beyond 3.3ghz ie 3.4ghz it crashes the benchmark so I’ve employed a -185 core offset, -90mv UV, 2750mgz fast timings for the vram with PL +10%.

Some games hit 3.2ghz some hit 3.3 with these settings and are stable.

Hopefully AMD do driver updates to improve the overclocking ability of the lower base spec cards.

I just went with a -75mv undervolt for now , fast timings on memory, can't remember what I set the speed at.
I found that the difference between -100mv and -75mv was only about 1FPS in game at 4k but -100 wasn't stable.
It's probably more down to the silicon lottery what cards will undervolt/overclock to - but I don't think it makes that much difference in game

It really doesn't, Most likely margin of error type things.

Bit late to the party but getting my Pulse today!

I'll be using DDU to uninstall nvidia drivers before installing the AMD ones. Is there anything else I should do when the card is installed? Just asking cos I've seen people mention undervolting and it's been ages since I messed with a GPU and it's settings.

I would also uninstall things like MSI afterburner.

Glad to see you got a card! Enjoy it above else!

If you want to tinker in Adrenalin either click on Auto OC tab and let the software do the overclocking or manually (Custom Tab) set the voltage to -40mv and leave vram and core offset alone at stock settings and set a fan curve in the software.

That should give you stable gaming and a cool card.
