BMW and M Power Owners

@IC3 have you looked on BMW AUC?

I have a feeling this one has sold already as it disappeared off Autotrader. It was one of the ones I saved.

Not surprised, it looks like a lovely example.
If only it had black interior. :D

He started looking at SUVs.. :o

Edit: it's been for sale for over 8 months, surely that can't be right?

Well, I guess it's time to update this thread with my thoughts on my G87 M2 now that I've had it a few weeks and done 300 miles (exactly!). It's difficult not to compare it to the F80 as that's my most recent car. I'll just summarise with bullet points as otherwise I'll end up droning on!
  • Interior comfort, feel and tech is leaps and bounds ahead
  • Steering wheels is a welcome change from Alcantara, but still too bloody fat. Why BMW, why?
  • Steering feel is numb, but extremely accurate
  • Noise is nice, I thought I'd miss the aggressive pops and bangs from the MPE but I find myself liking what I hear (despite not being able to rev it out, or use full throttle). I get that there's some fake stuff going on but whatever
  • Handling is immense, it's properly stuck to the road
  • Gone is the rear end nervousness over bumps experienced in the F80. You can still feel the car moving underneath you but it's in no way unsettling like it could be at times before
  • The dual screen is lovely and nice to use. I thought it would take a lot longer to get used to it but it's all very intuitive and easy to read
  • Apple Car Play is amazing with the larger higher res screen
  • Economy is a welcome change, I can get over 35 mpg on a run, I'd struggle to get 30 in the F80. I recon I could hit 40 mpg on a longer run which for a near 500 bhp car is nuts
  • The BMW app is much improved due to the iDrive version no doubt, things like being able to see the economy, past trips, tyre pressures etc is great
  • Rear legroom is less than I thought with the M sport seats. Half of me wishes I'd have gone for the buckets but then I remember the faff of getting in and out of them - and the fact I'll never sit in the back. Child fits in nicely which is what matters
  • Wing mirrors are far superior, I can see more and the blind spot warning is much better compared to the F80 version
  • Boot is deceptively large
  • Disabling speed limit & lane departure warnings has become second nature
  • Day to day the ZF8 is better. Auto hold, creep and the 8th gear add to that. Using the paddles below 4k rpm seems very snappy, although not quite DCT snappy. Time will tell but I think the day to day usability of the gearbox will win me over any of the downsides when pressing on
  • For those not sure on the looks, go see one in a nicer/bolder colour. It looks great, and has serious road presence. Pictures don't do it justice
  • The RIS period is a pain, how on earth do people deal with it. So annoying
Is there anything I miss about the F80 so far? Maybe the cold start now and then if it's not 4am and the exhaust nice time to time. Also surround view! But apart from that I struggle to think of anything.

It was there for a while, originally priced at £34000 but eventually dropped to 32k. I'm hoping some of the other AUC ones drop in price.
It's still available, posted at beginning of March, it is a hybrid though, the listing is incorrect - I called to check, as my dad was going to make the compromise on the cream interior, but it being hybrid is a deal breaker..

Just noticed it went back on Autotrader. Any reasons for not wanting the MHT?

This particular one is MHEV, not sure what the difference is? In my eyes it's another thing that can go wrong = costly repairs.

I wonder if it's because of my phone call, that they relisted it.

Need to have an inspection . When I purchased the car and driving around for the first 3-4 weeks . The car was pretty clean at the rear. Recently iv cleaned it .and after doing some driving Iv noticed more of a distributed covering of soot appearing on the rear of my car around the boot area

I know it's diesel but want to ensure not excessive exhaust soot or brake dust .

Generally since ownership iv not seen that distributed on the rear before.

I do have the adblue system so it should be cleanish

Could this be supermarket cheap fuel ? Worth sticking a bottle of injector clean through ?

This is what I mean. I gave it a snowfoam. Polish and wax around 2 weeks ago and this is the layer of stuff.

Not sure if this is the Sahara sand or from.my exhaust or brakes . It's not like that so much on rest of car .

I'll get the hose out tonight wash it off and monitor for a few days. Also may switch to using non supermarket fuel for a bit
