OcUK GUIDE TO ORDERING YOUR AMD 9070 GRAPHICS CARD TODAY AT 14:00

It was part of an easter deal apparently, The 9800X3D was supposedly £359 yesterday although some say its a marketing gimmick to get folk to the site.
100% a marketing gimmick. They might have sold 1 card at that price... Maybe.

However I am reconsidering whether I want the 9070 xt or whether I really want the 70 Ti instead.... The ti is the better card, and I don't really want to give AMD my money out of pity...

If it's out of pity for AMD, what would it be giving money to Nvidia ? Not like Nvidia are giving us great deals , anyway at current prices I won't be buying anything from either

The 9070XT is a really good card, not that much slower, and sometimes beats the 5070ti

Most games I play seem to perform better on an AMD card, That along with preferring Adrenalin to Nvidias driver layout, Never used DLSS with my 3080 so it made no difference to me.

Keep going, keep going, making me feel a bit better... :-p Maybe I'll do something I've never done before and swap mid-gen if the xt doesn't live up to expectations.

Or maybe it'll be fine. I have a tendency to over think things!

I'm pretty stubborn so wouldn't feel great about it I can't stand rewarding these companies, when the time comes when my current card starts to really struggle then maybe I won't have a choice
This is me. Unfortunately I don't have a GPU, so I don't (really) have a choice.

But damn, it smarts to buy over rrp, haha.

I recently upgraded from a AMD 480 8GB to 9070XT 16GB. Cost more than I wanted to spend but alternatives like Intel B580 weren't that great. Plus I held on to that GPU as long as possible until some games refused to load or became unplayable.

However for things like Forza and Doom they were fine, which shows a decent engine can still be useable on old hardware.

Honestly buy the card you want on its merit, for me it was easy I wanted a high end AIB card and ideally wanted to keep AMD due to software so bought a Nitro+ 9070XT which is similar in RT to last gen 4070ti super has great upscaling and raster is pretty much the same as 5070ti, beating it a fair few times. Equivalent Nvidia card would have been £900.

Having used dlss 4 on 3080 it's put me off more about upgrading now only game I'm playing right now is the last of us 2 and it runs very well

Yeh only use FSR4 in Cyberpunk but through optiscaler injecting it into DLSS.

That’s more a tech benchmark rather than a game I play.

Incidentally what sort of fps you getting on max settings in TLOU Part 2? I’m getting around 100-130 fps on max settings (16x Anistropic etc) with no upscaling

Maxed out 1440p dlss 4 ( tried native can't tell the difference in quality) , lowest I've seen is around 70 and hits just over 100 FPS but only hour into it so far probably will see more demanding parts but so far very satisfied

Basically the 3080 is the gift from Jensen that keeps giving! At this rate it will become immortal lol :)

i won't go that far lol , but given us peasants something, I feel it's even less for people to upgrade from 40 series when you can use best features of dlss4 only one excluded is multi frame generation which is something most wouldn't wanna use

Hopefully AMD start supporting upscaling the same going forward for previous generations
