Maybe but he's proven before he chokes under pressure. He's currently under zero pressure

Yeah but he didn't choke at Spa last year, under huge pressure from team mate. My memory is sketchy at best but he's not really made any notable mistakes in a while has he ?

I feel like nearly every driver on the grid bar Max comes with a 'can he handle the pressure' question mark attached to them. It's only Max and the two pensioners who have proven themselves capable of dealing with the highest levels of pressure.

Don't forget, Verstappen also went through a couple of seasons when he was crashing left right and centre.

I'm in agreement with you, I think George is second on the grid now. Stick him in that McLaren and he's winning every race this season.
 
I can't be doing with the Lando hate, especially the comments out there about his mental health and wearing his heart on his sleeve. F1 has attracted some of the worst social commentators.

Anyway, I want to see him do well. Should have got a time on the board before pushing harder. A lesson learnt. Hopefully he can make some ground and play a good strategy tomorrow. If anything, if the cars and tyres allow he might make the racing more interesting moving up towards the podium.

Love him or hate him Max is outlining his case very strongly to be in the top 3 to ever turn a wheel in a F1 car. There aren't many people that I've witnessed that can perform at such a high level and so consistently.

The better half summed him up perfectly when we were watching and she just said 'Alien'.

Easily top 3, at least among the eras of racing that I’ve watched/can remember. The dude eats, sleeps and drinks racing.

Great lap from Max. I think the Red Bull is generally the 3rd fastest car (I think the Merc might be marginally faster), but Max is making the difference.

Big mistake from Norris, but I imagine he'll still end up on the podium if he doesn't bin it again.

Rubbish from Lewis again (although the Ferrari isn't competitive and is barely even the 4th fastest car). He seems to be getting worse compared to the start of the season which is bizarre..he was surprisingly close to Charles in the first couple of races and won the sprint etc. Since the China sprint he seems to have been going backwards.

Yeah same. Typical behaviour to drag a British sportsperson down tbh. I don’t read the tabloids but I’m guessing they’re even worse than the online chat.

You can tell Max had a good run when we start getting the “generational driver” comments from the usual crowd :p It was a great lap I’m sure, but Yuki’s qualified top ten in all but one race so far so I’m not convinced the car is as bad as everyone is assuming.

If Oscar can somehow get past Max tomorrow it’d show great intent for the WDC. Edit: Today, what’s going on, who am I :o

How did Ferrari get it so wrong this year? They were very competitive last season, especially at the end. I mean they were potentially on for winning the constructors.

Now they are pretty much the 4th fastest car (perhaps trading blows with the Red Bull depending on the track, though the Red Bull perhaps has more potential overall). They seem consistently slower than the Mclaren and Mercedes anyway.

Probably should have kept the suspension etc the same for this year at least.
 
Yeah max is brilliant really.
This is gonna really take a toll on norris' mindset. He seems fragile there. Especially vs piastri who seems cool as a cucumber.

I'm no norris fan. But not due to his mental state. But it will quite possibly (probably) cost him. As someone who suffers with mental health I totally get it


Glad Russell is doing well. Not sure why he's so badly rated by many. I wondered if Hamilton would struggle in Ferrari. He's had a few good races for sure. But I do think he's in for a hard time with leclerc.


Really hope piastri wins the WDC. He's been my favourite since truth about alpine stuff came out.

I'd like Norris to win the title if Hamilton (and he definitely won't!) can't .

I still think he has a good chance, but he's got to stop the mistakes as it looks like Piastri has matured a lot for this season.

He will also have Max and Russell looking to punish him/take points away as soon as he drops the ball.

It's definitely his to lose this season.
