Lando confirming what I’ve been thinking, that they’re not that much faster than others and certainly that the RB is not that slow in comparison.

I don't disagree, but I think it's been very mixed so far, each race being different. Last week, Max had no pace at all in comparison to this week, Russell had good pace vs this week also. McLaren are definitely on top for overall pace, but it's very close up top for certain.

Max will always Max
Redbull will always Redbull and whine…

In the grand scheme of things, 5s was probably better given Piastri stayed with Max then romped off into the sunset.

Lando really really needs to pull his finger out

George disappointingly went backwards as well.

Yeah I agree. But read the comments here and some are suggesting McLaren should be breezing it race to race and that Max is dragging an Alpine-esque car to the podiums.

The McLaren at least is more consistent; so far there's not been a circuit its not worked on - the others seem to be far more variable (but then it was the same last year once Red Bull's initial advantage disappeared).

Max got a five second penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage.

I wasn’t paying full attention all the time but didn’t Lawson get a ten second penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage?

Why the difference? Or did I mishear it?

The way Red Bull have been going on you'd think their car was missing a wheel or something.. The truth is its still very fast but it needs to have an exceptional talent driving it and be right in its small operating window. He was making adjustments on his pole lap yesterday but he was hardly sawing at the wheel making loads of corrections. Plus it looked extremely smooth.

There will also be some tracks where some cars are just better than others and most tracks where Ferrari will ruin their car setup, that's just life.

If Piastri was the one who went off next to Max at that corner everyone would have been blaming Max for it!
