Upcoming Concerts

Last week went to see Heilung, wow, absolutely amazing gig and was buzzing for days after. Brixton academy was completely sold out and the atmosphere was electric.

Last night went to see Kuunatic, a Japanese, Rock, Psychedelic fusion. Heard them on R6 a couple of weeks ago and they just happened to be playing in Manchester where we flew out to Crete from this morning, so I managed to sneak the gig in. Tiny basement venue (called Yes) with ~50 people, really enjoyed it.

I'd love to see Heilung, was hoping to see them at Arctangent a few years ago (could have gotten backstage access!) but my other half was inconsiderate enough to have her birthday on the same weekend and really isn't into their music :(

I went to my first ever concert last evening, Lionel Ritchie @ Co op Live, in Manchester. Warm up act was Brooke Combe, she was really good although the audience didn’t appear to show much interest in her.
Lionel kept everyone waiting for 45 minutes after Brooke had finished her set, is that normal? Anyway, for a 75 year old, Lionel put on a decent show, had virtually everyone on their feet by the closing songs.

45 minutes between support & main act is fairly normal.

Got tickets to The Town which will include Iggy Pop and Sex Pistols on the bill. Already seen the Pistols with Rotten so luke warm about the Frank Carter incarnation. Either way, I’ll be avoiding Green Day, who are also on the bill.

Then for something entirely different, got tickets for The Gipsy Kings.

I'm at Download this weekend, my first one and it's been superb so far! Today was a bit meh in terms of the lineup and I couldn't give 2 hoots about Sleep Token but it was still a fun day, even with the unexpected downpour!

Saw Tim Minchin again on Monday and he was as great as ever then saw NIN last night in Manchester. They were good, but the shine was taken off the gig a bit as the 2.15hr jourmey turned into a 4+hr one thanks to the M62 and we missed the support act and opening track of NIN's, then a 3hr journey home and I'm not sure it was totally worth a 7hr trip.

Next gig is Oasis in Cardiff on Friday.

I was trying to keep my expectations from being too high, I didn't want to build it up too much in my head only to find that it perhaps wasn't quite as I'd hoped. I need not have bothered. They were absolutely on fire! I left the gig hoarse from signing along (sorry to anyone within earshot!) and knackered but absolutely elated. What a gig!

Whilst walking to the venue I was pondering setlist, opening track particularly. Why didn't I think it'd be 'Hello'? It kinda had to be. The perfect opener. It was indeed good to be back.

Anyone watching the Sabbath back to the beginning concert?
Couldn't get tickets so live streaming is the next best thing.

Been a good start, have to say Halestorm were excellent.
