EFL Thread 25/26

Farke didn't have the best time in the Premier League with Norwich, can't see him doing much different with Leeds.

To be fair, he got less than Southampton and Leicester this season to try and stay up with Norwich last time around, he will need backing for that for sure. But look at Ipswich, 200m spent to get relegated, a lot of work needed.

Wrexham worth £100miliion?! Where is that figure plucked from?
Probably googles AI overview. I just did the same. According to transfermarket the squad is worth 13m euros. I can imagine the club as a whole is worth around that 100m mark as it has massive support overseas due to the TV show, celeb owners, marketing/merchandise. Increased future stadium capacity will also add huge value. So 100m is probably not far of the mark.

regardless, 3 back to back promotions is crazy. They know the chasm between L1 and Championship is huge so next season will be a real test, but I can see them at least above mid table possibly pushing for play offs.

The Championship is going to be a whole other ballgame for Wrexham though, without wanting to offend League One and League Two, the Championship is a real step up, they'll be facing lots of teams who have made it to the Premier League before and generally a better standard of team. I'm going to go out on a limb now and predict that they will finish in the bottom half of the Championship next season

tough one, as many didn't think they would do much more than mid table this year. I guess they can't be underestimated. certainly be interesting next season, plus I can go see them when they come to Pride Park (if Derby stay up)

True, I just think that the Championship is going to prove a real tough step up for them, theres a difference between playing teams along the lines of Exeter, Lincoln, Stevenage, Northampton, Rotherham etc and playing teams like Millwall, Middlesboro, Blackburn, West Brom etc. They lost 8 games in league one this season and with the Championship teams being that step up and so competitive, they could lose quite a lot more next season. Will certainly be a good ride for Wrexham fans though but without wanting to sound negative I dont see them busting into the Premier League any time soon

Saving this quote :D 50/50 chance it will come back in 12 months to bite your butt :P

Long time Wrexham fan and season ticket holder here - absolutely surreal to think we are now a Championship club, having watched the club nearly go extinct this is just crazy.

I remember FA cup days that were huge days out, like Stoke back in 2015 or more recently since the take over Coventry and Blackburn to think we are now equal in terms of league is crazy, I remember the excitement of making it to the third round of the FA cup and hoping for that dream tie, now we don't even enter the comp until the third round wow! It was only 4 seasons ago we had to play in the fourth qualifying round to make it to the first round proper!

Agree with others and think the step up is going to be huge, I think the step up each time gets more and more difficult Champ > Prem being the toughest, just look at the amount of teams who go straight back down.

Although having said that I thought this season in League 1 would be a lower-mid table finish, so I guess....never say never. BackToBackToBack :D:D:D

Burton secured survival in League One last night with a point against Wigan. Not something that looked all that likely bare weeks ago. Well done the Brewers
