**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S23 Family Thread ****

An old galaxy s3 I bought on ebay for £10. You could have traded in any galaxy phone for £200 off, but I think that offer might have ended now.

I wasn't able to partake in that exchange as I'm in the Channel Islands and they don't deliver here. I am also not eligible for the EPP discount either.

Any one know or remember the price for Samsung to replace a battery? Samsung give you the Spanish inquisition if you try and book and appointment and live chat aren't helping saying the engineer needs to look at the phone first and then quote me the price, suggesting they know the price before the work is carried out........honestly!

Edit - managed to get a ball park. £149 to do something we could previously spend £30-50 for the battery and simply take the back cover off. Damn. iSmash say they can do it for £65.

Have a look at Likewize Repair - Phone and tablet repairs wherever you are

The Sketch to Image function is pretty clever no matter how bad you are at drawing, especially with a pen on a screen.

An example of my skills followed by the AI results...

I love the variation in art styles

A recent update has 'broken' the navbar again, where the left bit was meant to be the task manager, middle bit goes to home and the right bit goes back 1 page, so now all the navbar does is just goes to home. What's the bleeding point of that?

Anyway. to get the less than useful 1-way navbar back to 3-way:

1. Open Samsung / Galaxy Store (might just be called Store).
2. Search for Good Lock and install it.
3. Open Good Lock and scroll down until you find Navstar, then install that.
4. Open Navstar and enable permissions (photos).
5. Enable Navstar, then enable extra gestures settings.
6. Go back to Android settings > Display > Navigation bar
7. Go to more options, change from "swipe from sides and bottom" to "swipe from bottom"

If having to do this over again, then Navstar will already be installed and just need to be re-enabled, so only need to go from step 4 onwards.

installed this morning, battery life seems to be better (but this is only after a day's use)
Fingerprint reader also more responsive and first-time unlock seems to be better too.

Just had a go at the live translation in a call. It's pretty cool but definitely has a lot of work to be done, was all over the shop (Arabic). Off to explore more.
