OcUK GUIDE TO ORDERING YOUR AMD 9070 GRAPHICS CARD TODAY AT 14:00

Nvidia cards are not selling, that is why they are hitting MSRP,

no one wants 12gb vram in 2025.

The 5090 only existed on paper for a month+ and you can build a full ddr5 PC at that price, the 5070ti was priced too high making the 9070xt more appealing, and the 5060 is a joke with the 8gb vram variant being an insult.

Only reason Nvidia is hitting MSRP is because their rivals are taking away their customers.

They are selling, stock is ramped up, meanwhile the 9070 is sitting on shelves and XT is heading that with as its price is close to the 5070 ti. AMD can't be trusted, they give a fake msrp to get good day one reviews, scam.

What a laugh, AMD cant be trusted, look at the shambles of the 5000 series release..

Well that story is also wrong, over 2 months, when it hasn't even been out two months yet. Shortages compounded by Nvidia dropping the ball with stock availability, but that means those people who'd buy Nvidia are now buying AMD, so I don't think they care if people think it is a fake MSRP if they are selling every card they can make, and have back orders.

All in all, this is pretty bad for us consumers.
For instance, I saw that the MSRP for the 9070XT was actually around £560, yet now it is £100 more on the minimum. I am waiting for it go down, then I see Nitro+ goes down 50 bucks, I get heart palpitations as to whether there will be stock left, whether the price will go up again, whether I should buy or just wait some more.
At this point, I think the corpos are doing it on purpose, create this sort of fear anxiety.

Ask for a trade swap on MM?

Probably not worth it, its not like it's unavailable no one is going to want a reaper when you can get a nitro for 20 quid more. I'd have to lose money somewhere and im not willing to do that, I'll stick it out, I plan on upgrading next gen anyway if AMD do a high end which good 4k performance.

If you mean your pre order has not yet shipped then yes absolutely contact CS and they can refund the difference back.

The stock is due next Tues/Wed so you order will then ship and they will refund you down to £679.
Hi, I just got a response from CS saying they will not price match the price currently being offered.

So just cancel and re order. Gibbo said they have more stock than pre orders.

Worst case I'd re-order at lower price and if they claim they can't cancel the first order, just refuse delivery of the first order and get a refund once it's returned.

I have to agree with this, the cheapest available 5070 Ti is £60 (less than 10%) more expensive than the cheapest available 9070 XT.

Nvidia are plagued with driver issues right now, look on Youtube its not just big tech jurnoes saying this youtube is full of people with videos saying switching out their RTX 40 series for a 9070 XT fixed all their issues.

So there is still a lot of kudos for AMD right now but how long do we think Nvidia will allow the 'Nvidia bad drivers AMD good drivers' narrative to continue?
Nvidia will put a billion $ in to fixing their crap because they can and because they aren't going to allow that narrative to stick, they are very happy with that narrative sticking like glue to AMD.

Its as if AMD are capitalising on Nvidia's mistakes with no thought to garnering any kind of good will from the many who are currently frustrated with Nvidia, what they are saying to the consuming public is "No.... We are just like Nvidia, give us half a chance and we will treat you with the same level of contempt, you wont find anymore respect for you on this side"

They did lie about MSRP because none of them are available and haven't been for a long time now, the cheapest ones both here and in the US are over $100 above the base MSRP price.

I have been saying for a couple of years that AMD's drivers are now solid, they are and that is now recognised, we should just be talking about how good those drivers are and how good RDNA 4 is, a proper return to form for AMD in GPU's, instead we are talking about how AMD are part of the problem.

I just look at balance sheets, Nvidia have far, far more money than AMD but don't even invest enough to keep decent developers on the payroll.

A company can demand a premium when it's a premium product and service. Currently it's not.

Nice to see you around :)

AMD had the opportunity to force NVidia to lower their prices to something sensible in order to compete but instead have priced their graphics card to milk as much money as they can the same as NVidia. They may not actually be colluding but It's a bit of a cartel they've got going on where both sides just want to keep raising prices and maintain them without upsetting one another and triggering a price war.

why would nvidia lower prices to compete with amd when nvidia doesnt actually care about selling cards anyway? 5000 launch and lack of availability...

AMD eating into their market share wouldn't be good publicity for them. It's hard to say that they have the best product when everyone is buying their competitors product.

If 9070XT was priced around £500 where it belongs NVidia would be forced to lower prices as they'd be getting lots of bad press, as things stand everyone just thinks GPU prices being stratospheric is normal.

If AMD had released a 7900XT replacement based on RDNA4 then 5090 prices would have probably had to come down significantly as well. AMD seem to be basically doing everything they can to not rock the boat.

well they needed to add a free game to encourage people and the numbers sold today look poor on the 5070 /ti

I don't think £500 for a card this good is realistic in today's market

not disagreeing with the logic, i just don't think nvidia cares, i think people underestimate how little nvidia makes from gaming now compared to other segments. again the lack of availability is telling

I was going to say its not AMD's job to lower Nvidia's prices, that is your job, this for your first post, this post i see where you are coming from but i don't believe Nvidia would get any bad press for lowering their prices, quite the opposite, i think these large Youtubers are quite eager to get away from all this upside down nonsense and get back to normal, that being the familiar Nvidia first choice, AMD so long as they are 30% cheaper as the second choice and what a shame Intel don't yet make a card equivalent to AMD's higher end because then we can finally put the finishing touches to our collective clown faces.
