***Grand Theft Auto VI***

Backs up Rockstar's claim that it's filmed on a PS5. Despite the overall presentation DF is able to dig out issues that you wouldn't see if this was filmed on a high end PC - for example the game is using a relatively low quality upscaler and the game is outputting a resolution of 1152p. If this was filmed on PC it would have been native 4k

Funny how trailer 1 made the flakes snow up big time like "nooooooo a woman in charge waaaaa" - now after trailer 2 it's all about how hot Lucia is and jiggle physics.

Lmao.

Rockstar literally said it:

technically you could hook a pc up to a ps5 and capture the signal on a ps5, record it on a ps5.

still use the word "captured entirely ingame from a ps5"

surely the natural language is "on" a ps5 not from?

Sometimes the graphics don't look that great, theres a ton of DOF, on some of the frames even the characters don't look really any better than we've already seen, just not in an open world large game.

Yuu don't know if the footage is raw either or altered to make it look better.

the art style is great though

When pausing frames there is a ton of artifacting and blur, especially around character hair, not thing you'd expect if it was a PC running it and of course rendering at just 1080p is a give away

Based on this trailer and when comparing it to the leaked internal gameplay from a couple years ago - I'd hazard a guess and say much of what is making GTA 6 look good in the trailers is the Ray Tracing, strip the Ray Tracing out and it may look a lot more like GTA 5

Makes me wonder how they gonna handle the micro transactions... pay to win as it were.... seems we have moved on from this since gta5.

It's not really pay to win though. It's pay to skip dozens of hours of grinding and it only applies to GTA online although I get your point.
No word on what GTA online will look like in 2026 yet. As it's a total separate entity my guess would be they won't do a lot with it at first. Maybe they will migrate players over to the VC map in time or find a way to merge them or, hopefully, come up with a new GTAO system altogether.

It is interesting how first viewing, the trailer looked almost impossibly good, but more I watch, the more it looks like an actual RAGE engine powered videogame, with warts and all. Still, the density and asset quality + attention to detail is fantastic. But I would not really say it is that much ahead of e.g. pathtraced Cyberpunk.

Most impressive details are the beer bubbles, and the way body hair and body sweat look :p

Since these are primarily console games and then made for PC the GTA games have always been held back by them to some extent. Still looks like an impressive upgrade to me, although V came out in 2013(!) so it should be. Needs more butt jiggle physics imo :)

If they delayed beyond 2026 they may as well wait for the next gen consoles.

I’m sure I read somewhere that online is going to be sold separately to the single player. I could be totally wrong though

Looks far more realistic than cyberpunk to me.

...and you know the world will likely be larger, more alive and have more details.

As you say though, you can definitely tell it's the game itself. Even the animation of the main character going through the door at the start looks like they stole it straight from RDR2.

It's seriously impressive though. The bit thatwowed me the most was when they drove by the stopped police car with it's lights on etc. looked almost real.

I wonder if it will have the same switch between the 2 characters mechanic that V has. Used to love randomly switching to Trevor after completing missions as the others, and seeing what bonkers thing he was getting up to each time.
