What are the 30 year old plus gamers playing?

I'm 45 and have pretty significant problem staying in games - I mean I get bored with games after few hours - either I'm burned out, or games are crap.
I've been playing recently The Last of Us part 1 on PC - barely came out of the city and feeling bored.
Most of the games, adventure ones, have this initial story telling part with small kinda "tutorial" part to help player feel the controls etc - but those introduction parts are pretty long and boring, so when I play new game I get bored quickly just finishing those initial parts. You know what I mean?
Stick with The Last of Us part 1, I really didnt like it to start with and like you found it boring but it gets a lot better as it goes on.

Like many I've been feeling a bit bored of modern gaming so I've been playing From Russia With Love (missed this Bond game back when I had a PS2) and SSX Tricky via PCSX2.

My partner (just turned 30 herself so eligible here now!) has been playing SSX Tricky as well and said it's refreshing to not see a store button. She's actually having to work to unlock the character she wants to play as. Still an incredibly fun game to boot!

Outside of those two I've been playing some Lords of the Fallen with a friend following the co-op update, some games of Warhammer 40K on Tabletop Simulator, and jumping on for some runs of Space Marine 2.

Still gaming, but with a 2 year old it's pretty much confined to whenever I don't have childcare or family responsibilities. Managed to finish Stalker 2 though a few weeks ago which was pretty good. Looking forward to the new Doom game.

Still Mechwarrior 5 Mercs ( looking forward to the Kerensky DLC) , alternating between EU IV (still love the sense of history and still learning my way around0 and Stellaris ( had the base game for ages but after getting in EU IV thought I'd go back and revisit - really enjoyoing it ( any recommendations for DLC)
Finally tinkering a little with Titan Quest II (TQ 1 is one of my fav games of all time) and waiting on more news of the remaster of Sacred 2 ( a game I found way more fun than Diablo 3)

After a fair few patches, I've finally decided to give Cyberpunk a proper go. Gives my 4070S a good test although with a 2 year old it's been limited to an evening when I haven't been too knackered. For something more chill I'll play Roadcraft.

Dune Awakening. Very chill. Not a lot end game content it seems but I've not been in a rush to get there, also some questions over server viability, think they'll need to merge due to low population on many of them. Then again most players I've chatted to have zero interest in pvp.

Still it's nice to see other players and coop occassionally.

i fancy getting this one as i love the Dune universe and have played the original Dune and Dune 2 multiple times (the musical score on the Amiga was excellent)
is it viable to play this as a pure PvE game with only a handful of real life friends or do you really have to play it publicly to be effective?

Yeah there's a tion of content already before you hit the end game - they've nailed the Dune feel.

Currently playing Actraiser on the SNES, always wanted to finish it. I purchased a 9070xt last month and have barely used it. I feel myself just going back to my old retro games, definitely getting older haha
