Some more stuffs from AliExpress.
Gloves £21, and way more comfy than my RST's or Alpinestars..

And some cleaning & lubing stuffs for around a tenner..

The chain lube attachment thingy is absolutely brilliant and way less messy.

They look & feel as good as any of the other (stupidly expensive) pairs of gloves I've got/had.
Leather is good, stitching is good, and I've tried pulling them apart, and they're sound.
Nothing I've bought from Ali X has been any different from what I'd buy over here, but it is cutting out the middle man and is vastly cheaper for products that are all made in the same place.

Are you sure ? :D

France, Tunisia and a network of carefully selected subcontractors apparently (read sweatshops, probably).
I’m guessing the higher end suits etc are made in France.
There were quite a few Chinese companies posting on social media when Trumps tariffs came in showing that loads of high end clothing, handbags etc were made in China then shipped over to France etc to have the fancy labels sewn on and then the claim that they were manufactured in those countries.

Speaking of gloves, I've been meaning to try the more reasonably priced Level 2 gloves for ages as my Knox Nexos things are feeling thinner by the day, and finally ordered a bunch into SBS to go and try. Namely:

- LS2 Swift
- Alpinestars GP Plus R V2 (Actually level 1 but decent review on MotoCAP)
- RST Fulcrum (Actually level 1 but decent review on MotoCAP)
- Oxford Nexus

I had high hopes for the GP Plus thing but it didn't feel great and somehow has PINK dye running on white bits, when it's a black and white glove. First impressions and all that. the LS2 felt its price, as did the RST, although the RST was proper vented so lighter. And maybe predictably the Nexus was the winner.

100GBP for CE Level 2 is quite nice. Not as many hard bits as my old Knox but maybe that's the right way.

I do need to get some summer gloves, but I'm still having to turn on both the grips and the heated gloves!! Bloody Raynaud's :(:o

I bought an hoodie - AA rated Merlin Stealth Pro. Lvl 1 elbow and shoulder & Lvl 2 back protection. I quite like it!! Look like a proper yob with the hoodie/jeans/shoes combo.

I think you can get a section 59 these days for riding with a hoodie

I'm thinking more about chest protection after I had a low speed off in Portugal on a trail on a R1300GS. Landed mostly chest first and just a bit of bruising. The next day a lady managed to turn her GS upside down and broke I think two ribs! I'll be riding past fc-moto shop later this year so might try a few airbag stuff on. They seem to have more over there than here, at the moment.

Took the girl child on an outing yesterday - around some of the Norfolk coast (Cley round to Walcott with a stop for an ice-cream obvs.....) then home via the city. She's getting so much more confident on the back - this was her longest ride to date at 70 odd miles. A nice bloke took a pic for us at Sheringham! She never shuts up though......lol!!!

I am normally fairly introverted, but I live for the looks of disgust people give me when I ride in a kevlar hoodie - especially when they chose to pass comment :D

Tested the mpg on the Bird. I did 180 miles, although the last 25 odd miles were sort of bottom clench as I wasn't sure of the range and avoided overtakes. Turns out it had 6 litres remaining still when I filled it up near home.

Online UK mpg calculator gives 51 mpg which is brilliant for a 27+ year old bike. I had read about it when researching before my purchase but still found it unbelievable.

Did a doughnut drop today. Parked up at the shops just fine and manoeuvring the bike wind caught it more than I expected and just tipped it too far to the right and slowly laid it down. No real damage other than pride lol! Car parks are my nemesis it appears.
I *almost* did the same yesterday. Was out with a buddy who wanted me to film him, so I pulled up, kickstand down, not realising the road really dropped away, went round the other side of the bike and it slowly started to tip over. Managed to catch it before it fully went over though!
