No they don't.

Same as most unfortunately by the looks of things - it's an anti-perforation warranty rather than a cosmetic rust warrantyWhat's BMW's Corrosion warranty like?

Fake news, it's more than 3 years old and has been designed to fail.Thought I’d best provide an update on this thread and my E91 325i… checking back, my last update was back a whole decade ago, back in 2015 and my 3 series was at a specialist with a misfire…
Long story short - the first winter I had the car, I noticed that upon first application of anything more that moderate throttle from a cold start, the car would hesitate, miss, and put itself into limp mode. Totally cured by pulling over and turning it off and on again. I suspect in retrospect that that was why the previous owner sold the car…
Anyhow, the specialist I found did indeed know their onions and traced the issue to (if memory serves) the oil supply pump for the vanos unit. They stripped the pump and rebuilt it for me with various new parts, I remember seeing an impeller and other bits and bobs… the guy mentioned that most of the parts he changed had been clearly redesigned by BMW in the interim - so perhaps an early N52 flaw that was later solved?
I can’t remember the bill now, but it was well under the £2k mark. And that totally fixed the issue - the car’s driven smoothly, exactly as it should ever since.
I’ve now had it over 11 years - well over double the time I’ve ever owned any other car. I bought it on 50,000 miles and it’ll tick over 173,000 tomorrow on my commute to work. It’s just had its annual service, this time it’s had plugs and brake fluid done along with the front brake lines which had started to corrode.
But other than that initial issue - I’ve had a solid decade of trouble free motoring. It’s has three continental holidays and associated autobahn visits (oh yes, that’s why it’s geared so long!) and has assumed a great role as a family wagon now there’s two kids in tow
Let’s see if it’ll make a quarter of a million miles!
Haha!Fake news, it's more than 3 years old and has been designed to fail.
Only half of that is correct. Suspension is identical, confirmed. Maybe the suspension works better with the heavier engine, but the components are identicalS55 also a brilliant engine (arguably a proper M engine unlike the N55). The only complaint people have with it is that it sounds more refined aka quiet compared to the N55.
The Comp gets more attention as it's a significant step up from the OG - improved suspension, more power, better brakes, updated interior/exterior and proper seats.
I've seen low mileage AUC Comps with both packs sell within 24 hours of being listed, the demand is huge right now.
The Comp also has the M buttons on the steering wheel, the OG does not. That 'suspension is identical' thing I've always found interesting - I don't know what they've done then, because they feel hugely different. Interiors aren't the same - seats you mention, but there's other bits like the dials are far easier to read (admittedly better in the LCI - the original M2 was awful on this front), there's a button for the reversing thing too which wasn't in the M2. Cant remember much else though tbh.

I also noticed the M2 Comp has 0.5mm depth washers rather than 0.7mm on the seat rails
iDrive 6 comes on LCI's tooMirrors were the normal 2 series mirrors too weren't they? iDrive 6.0 over 5, and perhaps subjective but I think the materials used seem a better quality than in the original one - perhaps that's the carbon fibre? Saying that, I remember them asking me about the touch screen in the LCI when I traded for the comp - i had no idea it was now a touch screen in that. Derp.
Also, aren't the brakes on the M2 OG LCI single piston with the comp being 6 front & 4 rear??
M2 has 19 inch too. Just a different designFeel free to update or correct, but these are the changes on the M2C that I know of (with help from Google):
Engine - upgraded to the S55 twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six engine (405 bhp 406 torque)
Suspension - revised/retuned for better handling
Body - updated front end, grille, air intakes, side skirts and rear bumper
Mirrors - updated to standard M mirrors
Wheels - larger 19' (M2 18')
Interior - added M buttons + drivelogic modes, M seats (taken from M3 and M4), updated steering + throttle adjustments, updated seatbelts
I excluded brakes as the 2NH were an option, not factory standard.
Same as most unfortunately by the looks of things - it's an anti-perforation warranty rather than a cosmetic rust warranty
