BMW and M Power Owners

So i have around 5 years left of this warrenty on a 2018 car

In theory yes.

As mentioned though, don't assume it covers "any rust", my experience with another manufacturer's (Ford) similar anti-corrosion warranty is that you cannot claim until there is complete perforation due to rust i.e. a hole through sheet metal.

I was only checking, as BMW's tend to have a bad reputation sometimes of wheel arch rust. Not sure if this is coverable. This usually occurs when there is water ingress through arch protection lining

It should be covered, but only if it actually rusts all the way through and creates a hole within the warranty period

I have an intermittent rear indicator fault. Reading up, it appears to be a common fault. Should be fixed under the approved used warranty, so will have to book it in. Almost 12 months to the day since I bought it, so can't really complain as this will be clearly be its only issue ;)

Give it a whack in the mean time. Should get it working temporarily

hey guys. Do you know which gen keys have motion sensors in them? Just thinking about the risk of them being sniffed out as we keep them quite close to the front of our house

Ha, yes. I have to do this every six months or so. Should get it fixed properly I guess.
Bought it with a BMW warranty so might as well use it! Forgot I have to go via the purchasing dealer in Germany first, which will be a convoluted process, but if it can save me a couple hundred quid on a new cluster, then it's worth a try.
Local dealer fobbed me off immediately because "lights aren't covered" and "you bought it in Germany" so we'll see how EU-wide this EU-wide BMW warranty is...

I can't answer that question, but why not just get a faraday pouch/box and remove any doubt? They're not expensive.
Just done some digging - it would seem that fobs after 2018ish / iDrive OS7 will have motion sensors in so no need for any faraday cage type solutions.

On further digging it appears that the motion timeout period is 2 minutes :)

Would there be any limitations due to Brexit on an EU-wide warranty?

You can report the claim Europe-wide (incl. Asian Turkey).
However, you must register the car in the EEA, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, UK or Cyprus.
So that's pretty good.

However, I found this exclusion in the T&C. We'll see how it goes then
Headlights: Glass, headlight housings, light source, Xenon bulbs.
