Are people using Frame Generation? Given Doom Eternal is a quick game, why would you want to additional latency?
Why aren't other developers using the ID tech engine instead of the turd that is Ue5?
Exactly that, DOOM 2016 was a masterclass, this seems to be a similar story, other developers need to take a good, long, hard look at what ID do!!No surprises at all, idtech it's just a fantastic engine.
Are you running a 5090 for those settings and that much FPS?Loving this, think it’s my favourite. Runs beautifully, 4K, DLAA, maxed out, don’t even need frame gen to get over 100fps.
There is no additional latency that is noticeable really, but this is largely down to the game running at high fps without it anyway so you're always gonna get great latency with FG enabled on such a game.
110 fov on 16:9.
Personally I see 2 places where FG is useful:
Baseline 60-70FPS will net you around 120 FPS with 2x FG and is a significantly better experience with minimal visual artefacts and no noticeable effect on latency (EDIT: That is a slight lie but the sometimes impact on latency in that scenario is more than outweighed by the overall benefit).
Baseline 100+ FPS with MFG with a high refresh display (i.e. 240Hz)
Pretty much any other scenario is a nasty mess of warping/wobbling objects and other visual artefacts and/or noticeable additional latency which ruins the "higher" FPS i.e. 40FPS with FG topping that up to around "60-70" FPS is a choppy horrible mess that is probably less playable than the original 40 FPS.
ah cheers i usually have that off in windows itselfTurn hdr on in Windows before loading the game.
