The Last of Us (HBO, from Creator of Chernobyl) - No game spoilers please

I do agree that Kaitlyn Denver is a closer match for Ellie, in the video game, but Bella Ramsey is playing the role perfectly well for what is written. The issue for me with choosing Kaitlyn as Abby has somewhat diluted the stark contrast and physical difference between the antagonists as depicted in the game.

Still enjoying the show and am hopeful for additional character back-story, like the Bill episode in the first season.

Shame bella can't act for toffee then.

She's terrible, absolutely awful since GOT. I wonder when they'll stop trying to make her a thing? They gave up on Emma Watson in the end because she was a plank, Millie Bobby Brown is unconvincing outside of early 11, not looking good for her long-term.

It doesn't help Bella that she hit every branch on the ugly tree on the way down either That's not going to land her roles as she exits the child/YA adult phase she's 22-23 now.

Abby actress would have made a better Ellie.
The funny thing is, I believe she actually auditioned for the role and lost out to what we ended up with. When someone pointed that out to me it made the contrast between the two female leads stand out all the more. I knew that Bella couldn't carry the show in season 2 if it followed the game plot, but good lord what could have been. Granted, I still think the plot of part 2 is weak and ultimately unfulfilling but they could have made much better casting decisions

They just couldn't help themselves, total cringe.

This sums up the tone change from game to TV

They probably figured it makes more sense that she is a bit more positive about it from the outset considering that
Ellie and Dina end up co-parenting on their farm, later in the game

Alright episode. Bella decided to try to act and she did ok bless her. Asian Sinead O'Connor running around was hilarious and falling into the lift. Introducing spores was great. Should've been there from the start. Would've made it feel less like a zombie show. Season one is still my favorite. And I think I prefer the game of 2. Which is very telling. It was awful

He was absolutely beaten to the brink of death in both though, they just didn't show much in the TV series.

It mostly happened off screen.
Yeah it just seemed light and not done very well, minor suspense and just a bit lazy on their part (HBO) didn't want to say in case spoilers etc

I've only seen S1, and I thought Ramsey was excellent, is there a noticeable change in her performance for S2? If so what's happened?

I never played Last of Us Part 2 so I'm not sure what to expect.
