Are you going to buy the 2022 Apple TV with USB-C charging on the remote?

Picked up a second ATV box today :)

2 weeks in with our first one and I'm really impressed. Our bedroom TV is just a cheap small Samsung but my god is it slllooow. Can't stand it.

So checked CEX and they had one in my local shop. Took some old PS4/5 games in and just swapped them for it. It's like new which is surprising, CEX can be very hit or miss

@whiskycycle is the TVlauncher worth grabbing? Haven't heard of it so excuse my ignorance!

Mother-in-law is here, can't get at telly! Seems great on iPhone, iPad and Macs though.
 
Why the sudden surge of activity in this thread? Something going on with ATV I don't know about?

Also while I'm here, is there any way to run all the 'normal channels' through the ATV? I have the apps of course but id like all the normal channels to somehow feed through it if possible.

Not really, you can use Plex as an example and plug in an IPTV free view box.

It would be nice if freely app came to ATV.

I have a HD Homerun which I can access from any fire stick / fire cube throughout the house either using their app, or using Plex. Not for everyone though, as the cost is probably a bit much.
 
Does anyone know if you can pause on the ITVX app?

I watched a Youtube review of the box and he said ITVX couldn't pause, but that was watching live, hopefully you can pause when watching on demand.
 
Anyone have app recommendations for playing xbox cloud via appletv? Googling suggest Onecast but its third party by the looks of it

Not used the Shield at all since I got the ATV… just need to replace the receiver, since it won’t pass 4K to TV and do ARC… feed back to receiver from TV gets mangled sometimes.

Mrs W loves the ATV as well. Airplay Fitness+ FTW
 
Hi all, i recently picked up an Apple TV 4k 3rd gen with new siri remote. All good apart from the remote! It looks to be using IR not bluetooth? If i block off the top of the remote it stops working…line of sight is always required for it to work correctly.

Anyone else experiencing this?!

I haven't used the remote in ages. I just use my iPhone as the Apple TV remote instead.

Edit: You can also use your Apple Watch as remote if you prefer.

Yes, since tvOS 18.5, mine has stopped working the TV's volume controls as well. I'm sure they've introduced a bug. Not fixed in tvOS 26 betas either. Haven't tried resetting it to factory defaults yet.

If that happens, just restart the remote. Mine does it every couple of years!
